Notch isn't actually bad in person but you can hide it with Nacho Notch app, it gives you your status display but with a black background so you don't see the notch. It's what Google should have done in the first place.

Pixel 3 (not XL) is the perfect phone. Also went from the 5S. You keep the advantages and get rid of the issues (bad screen, sluggishness, battery, iOS...)

So, I'm watching this just as my newly opened and currently charging Pixel 3XL gets readied up for its first use, one day after Google's unveiling of the Pixel 4 which looks pretty cool but for what I paid for the Pixel 3XL which was half off at Google Store, I'm sure I'll do okay. Only reason I'm writing this is 'cause you'd mention a comparison between it and the Nexus 6P; that's my current phone (first smartphone, too)and one that's been a solid performer for me since I'd purchased it new a couple years back. Unfortunately, it's no longer supported and relative to the latest gen of phones, probably a bit long in the tooth. Will be paying close attention...

I think I'd rather have it like that, that. Than take up 75% of the entire top and only see time and 2 notifications like others. Plus, the Top bezel on the sides is smaller than any others like Huawei and especially Apple.

Nikolai Harhai Yeah I definitely wouldn't immediately jump to upgrading if you have the 2 XL. Still a darn good phone and impressive how the camera still holds up with the latest flagships a year later.
