I have had this phone for over 5 weeks now and find it hard to use my other phones over this. In the USA this is an outstanding performing phone in this price range. There isn't a better camera at this price of $399. @ T-Mobile or hundreds of $$$ more. Texting on this feels very tactile like you are typing . Nice clicky feel. Even my Nokia 8 that I just got a few days ago doesn't have this nice haptic feel but kind of mushy. The speakers and sound on the 3a are superior to the Nokia. Why Nokia only included one model,the Nokia 6 at the time of release with dual speakers I don't know. It's all the little things that make me want to keep using this over other phones. One thing I notice is this phone has next to no lag unlike the Nokia 8 that has sometimes. Smooth and responsive and all the other things make this a great overall user experience . Not a big Android or Google fan but I have to say that Google scored a homer with this one and it's larger sibling . So far it has been worth every Penney.

Great video and a absolutely amazing phone. The pixel 3a does everything a smartphone can do without costing a fortune and comes with probably the best phone camera I’ve used. I have this handset myself and wouldn’t be without mine. I can also recommend the Samsung a50 as another standout phone which is similarly impressive for the price but I personally prefer the pixel 3a for my daily device. @@dhilsiva I bought a barely used Pixel 3 for 420usd, only a little more than a 3a. I do play a lot of games on my phone, so I would probably notice the difference is processing power, but you might not. The cameras are nearly indistinguishable. The battery life on the 3a will probably be better than the 3 due to the slightly larger battery and more power efficient processor. I wouldn't count on water resistance on a refurbished unit so that's not quite an advantage. Wireless charging is not very useful most of the time because it's so slow. The 3a will be more durable courtesy of the plastic body. The 3a also has a headphone jack, but the 3 speakers are so nice to have front facing. If you really want the front facing speakers, wide angle selfie cam, or wireless charging, go for the 3. If you want a more durable phone with a headphone jack, 3a is a better buy.

I love stock Android, so the Pixel and Zenfone are probably the better candidates but I live in a very sunny area and my Pixel 2 is so hard to see during the day. I should be able to see the map while driving at the very least. The 64 gigs of storage is a bummer as well, considering I'm already at 59 on my 2. But then again, OneUI is kinda... meh. I have considered the Moto Z4, but I heard the fit of the mods isn't the best. I also found the camera to be kinda meh. The first reviewer to mention that the audio port makes more sense at the bottom. I don't see it being plastic as a negative one bit, lighter and better at taking a drop, not a fan of the gloss though. If I was to buy a phone with a screen that is just way to big to be what I consider practical like this, I would buy it. No more samsungs for me in my life time, 3 strikes for hardware failure and your out. I am amazed that no one makes modern speced phones under 5 inch anymore....

Completely agree with your video comments! I purchased the Pixel 3 XL and my freind just recently purchased the Pixel 3a. I'm actually very happy with my Pixel 3 XL but at the same time, I'm just has impressed with the Pixel 3a. The battery life on the 3a is EXTREMELY impressive. My friend is averaging approximately 5.5 hour screen on time (and I'm NOT exaggerating) and the camera and software experience of the 3a is almost on par with my Pixel 3 XL. Granted, he doesn't play games on his phone, so that might save some battery. If you're not a "spec geek" (as I am), then I would HIGHLY recommend the Pixel 3a (or Pixel 3aXL if you like bigger screens) to anyone asking "what mid-range phone should I buy?" Also, FYI, Pixel 3a and 3aXL are both now able to beta test Android Q as of beta 4.

@@lukasgotz3252 He usually gets about 5.5 to 6.5 hours screen on time on the Pixel 3a. That's why I'm so impressed. I usually get about 4-5 hours on my Pixel 3 XL which has a much bigger battery. The below linked article shows the Pixel 3a XL gets about 5 hours SOT, but I know for a fact that my friend's Pixel 3a gets 5.5 - 6.5 hours SOT. Hello Mr. Ho, I am practically a novice to smartphones and I really need one for my travel. My budge is C$200 - C$300. This Pixel 3A is beyond my means. I don't play games but I need it for Google Maps, Camera and perhaps Google Translate when I travel only cause I almost always get lost. Its use would only be 1 1/2 mos to 2 mos. in length per year. Would you be able to recommend a model that is suitable for my purpose? Please advise. Thank you.

I have had almost every Galaxy phone (3 to the 8+). The 3a rocks. No Bloatware, excellent screen, stereo speakers, 3 years of updates as they are released, best camera, great battery life, unlimited cloud storage (makes 64gb plenty), true Google phone, and great price. Highly recommend. I hope they keep making phones in this category.

Have one and love it with 2 caveats: 1. Picture in picture is buggy on this phone. Especially the one you get with KZbin. 2. Finger print reader is annoyingly inaccurate. Slightly greasy finger and it doesn't work. Went to it from a v30 and it's very frustrating. Because I get worse audio, no removable storage and an annoying fingerprint reader. But I'm now stuck because once you go pixel camera, you just can't go back.

@@hoyoungwon no need for the apology. Thanks for the quick reply! Do you have to always have it on full brightness? It's not a big deal if the battery life still runs well. I currently have a Nexus 6p and it's given me a lot of issues including the fact that it made me delete everything and restart. Also the other day it died on 70% and when I restarted it it had 2... I did a ton of research on the Nexus and it was expensive but it goes to show that's not always important. So I won't be spending so much on a phone anymore needless to say. Thanks again!
@hoyoungwon5 жыл бұрын
I tend to have it around 70-80% brightness throughout most of the day. Though keep in the mind that the brightness slider has massively changed on Android since Android Pie. So, you can't compare 70% on Pie with 70% on Oreo. Hope this helps and I'm glad my video gave you some insight! Thanks for watching 😊

Great review. I'm trying to decide between the Pixel 3a, Pixel 3 or Galaxy S9. I can currently upgrade to the S9 for free or pay $90 for the P3a or $100 for the P3. Which way would you go?
@hoyoungwon5 жыл бұрын
This is sort of a cop out answer, but it really depends on what things you care about the most. I'll break it down a bit: If you care about specs and design = Galaxy S9 If you care about camera quality, updates, and performance = Pixel 3 If you care about camera quality, updates, and quality assurance (regular Pixel 3 has some widespread issues) = Pixel 3a
@maplespike4315 жыл бұрын
@@hoyoungwon I'm not a heavy user and specs and design aren't a huge concern. I don't have a problem with the look of any of the phones and I usually upgrade to models that are a year or two old. My current thoughts/concerns are: Galaxy S9's battery life. Pixel 3a's body, I have a magentic doc in my car that I use for work and am not sure that the 3a will work with it. Pixel 3's lack of headphone jack and possibly battery life. I know that both the car doc and lack of headphone jack can be taken care of with the purchase of an accessory, so I guess it comes down to whether the S9 and Pixel 3's battery's are good enough.
@hoyoungwon5 жыл бұрын
@@maplespike431 I can only answer your question through other reviews as I don't have the S9 and the Pixel 3 myself, but I'm confident that you'll be pleased with the battery life of either of those devices as long as you get them new or like new condition. The age of the battery and how many cycles it has left are more important than anything else. Also, I've heard decent-good things about the battery on both devices (at least for the first year).
