Same here. Expect, I have bought S6, S7, S8 and S9, all used for 200-300€ and sold them after 1-2 year usage for 100-200€. Now, I think, it's time to get Pixel 4a to replace S9 and S9 will be left as 4G dongle for home.

I have the 3a, and had a OP 6 for 2 years prior. The difference is that the premium glass phones feel like fine jewelry in hand, and the Pixel feels plasticky. The upside is, I don't feel I have to use a case on the Pixel.

People should really check out the Galaxy Note 9 in 2020. Aliexpress and so on sell the USA version for EU too with unlocked carrier, where you can get the advantage of using snapdragon and a still modern working device. Yes it doesn´t get any updates anymore, but seriously it costs 299€ and you're most likely going to root and custom rom flash it after 2 or 3 years.

When you say the camera is better on the s9 do you mean it takes better pictures because in my mind the 4a destroys the s9 camera

Alex Packer the pixel takes better pictures but it doesn’t destroy it and I’m my opinion the s9 is more worth it even if the camera is not as it it’s still great

also galaxy s8 and the models after that have fully laminated screens with specific liquids which many people cant get their hands on. They will definitely have better looking panels than others. Except a few companies.

fyip. for folks trying to upgrade to pixel 4a from s9, best thing to do is trade in your phone at best buy and you are getting 130$ for it. then buy a pixel for as less as 220$ except for samsung pay and ip rating, pixel 4a does look to be a great phone!

I have both phones, they are pretty even power wise but the S9 battery lasts a bit less. The S9 offers more features and in 2022 still gets security updates.

Pixel 4 for the clean software. Also if you live in the US, the Pixel 4 gets custom ROMs available for their phones while Samsungs only get custom ROMs for their Exynos variants. However if comparing Pixel 4a (key thing is the a), then get the Pixel 4a as it gets more software updates.

These speed test are baaad, I mean even the 765G is inferior to the 845 in GPU and hard tasks so you can imagine the how the 730 does Opening little apps .5 secs faster doesn't mean it will perform better in the app and I'm not even mentioning the games or editing haha

Had the S9+ for about a month... Had ghost touch problems and the screen would go crazy, isn't as water resistant as it says My S9 drowned only on about 3 feets on the pool... Returned it twice and I'm currently waiting for the Pixel 4a. Coming back after the Pixel 2 XL loved it but I needed that headphone jack.

pixel 4a is a budget phone lmao and a weaker processor. I'm on the S9 and after 2 years I'd rather have the pixel 4a. Samsung depreciates way too fast (from £749 to £150/200 trade in) and gets gimped by samsung after warranty expires. Processor and screen rinse the battery, 4gbs of ram is a crippling point, and the software updates don't do you favours as its targeted to their newest flagship.
