Love my 6P so much I might not be parting with it until the Pixel 3..... In fact if Google updates the 6P to have all the same features as Pixel (Software/Gyro OIS, Fingerprint Gesture, Google Assistant, etc.) then it's damn near still a flagship device even over a year old.

Jason Wilson agreed except mine on 7.1 is getting pretty poor battery life. It's a brand new replaced phone too... So it's not the hardware that's degraded it's actually the software draining too much. Idk how morons At google can manage 5hrs sot on previous android versions but newer ones it drops to 4 like how? Why do they always make battery life worse with new software updates are they incompetent?

Nice video, but it would very helpful if you say 1., 2., 3., etc as you speak about the five good/bad things. A visual annotation corresponding/matching your voice, with brief pauses in the video would help tremendously. Right now it all just flows/meshes together too much, and the viewer can easily lose track of what point you are on.

Ali Rivol​ the assistant isn't an Android feature yet. It's a Pixel feature like the fingerprint gestures. So even though my 6P is on 7.1.1 out didn't have out yet. But I have it on my XL and it impresses me sometimes. Yesterday I was was reading an article about a fight coming up. I activated the assistant and ask "show me one of his fights" it brought up a list of links, I activated it again and said " on KZbin" boom played one of his fights on KZbin. Not perfect but still impressive especially since it's supposed to get better over time.

Ali Rivol They are gonna give you 2 years of major updates and 3 years of maintenance updates ... besides , how do you expect them to market the Pixel phone if they said "all these amazing features will also be available on the much cheaper flagship from last year" in their KeyNote. Just picked up an pixel xl for 540 at Verizon. I know the new model is coming out in November but I was searching for a phone for around the 5 bill mark and just couldn't see paying 750 or 800 for an iPhone plus or a galaxy 8. I love the way this phone operates so smooth and responsive. Camera is awesome!!!

If the price of the pixel doesn't go down by march (We're getting a new phone for my birthday) Than, I think I'll look else where. I really went to get on board with the googleFi plan but with the choices of phones being VERY limited, I think I'm going to have to pass... for now. Google is still very much on my radar. Other phones I've looked at, the Moto G4. Customizability, SD card slot, Headphone jack (as opposed to apple), and affordable price, That might be the one I go towards.

The biggest minus for me is a not easily replaceable battery. I've seen the youtube videos on how it can be done and it is a little daunting or you have to pay $80 to have ubreakifix do it which may put you without your phone for a few days. Batteries are consumables. They need to be user replacable.

I had this phone and really wasn't impressed. The lens flare on the camera was frequent and noticeable, the speaker position was a poorly thought out design flaw, no micro SD storage made it to where I could no longer use my phone in conjunction with my DSLR, it looks like an iPhone which is about as bad as it gets, and the fit n finish is not good. This phone shows wear n tear VERY QUICKLY.......... I do like Android 7 though. So I gave Verizon their iClone back and installed CM14.1 on my Moto X Pure. Now I have front firing stereo speakers, a 2K display, Android 7, a better build quality, expandable storage, and a 21mp camera.

The price kills it IMO. You can get an S7/S7 Edge for way less right now and they are at least equally great phones, minus the stock android. I really hope Google prices the next generation more reasonably, there's not much room for iphone-like pricing in the android market.

depends on what you are coming from :P if you have nexus 6p dont even think about it. If you come from something else which is very crappy.. contemplate if you can suffer the costs on the short term and be happy with this phone for the long term. 1 thing is for sure, there will be another one which will be better. Or... consider iphone 7. same price range some specs a bit better. But siri is inferior to google assist and i guess UI is based on preference. You cant go wrong with either of them

I have had nothing but problems with my Google Pixel. The phone jumps in and out of airplane mode on its own. The Flashlight comes on and off by itself. The reception of the phone is weak compared to other phones at the same location. The screen brightness goes up or down regardless of the phone setting. By By Pixel for me.

Google Assistant will not send any of my voice messages to any of my phone contacts, except for one. I've been told there is something on the person's phone that is blocking my message from going through. Can this be fixed? For the price, this phone should be able to send a voice message to anyone on my list. They all have apple phones, and I'm starting to wish I'd just upgraded to iPhone 7.

what i find quite sad is the 'guaranteed' two years of software update.. WTF, as if that is anything. Apple still supports like 6 generations back, and albeit a bit slow the phones still work. Iphone 5 has IOS 10. Why should we be happy with two years of software support. Very gay from google. If i pay nearly 1k for a phone i want to at least have the notion that if wanted i could still rock it 3 to 4 years down the line with updates.

I own both a Pixel and iPhone 7, and undoubtedly the thing I hate most about my Pixel is the screen. To be specific it's Amoled screen. I can't stand the current state of Amoled. I just can't stop myself from noticing all of these incredibly annoying false colors. One of my favorite colors is red, and you might as well find a new favorite color because it's M.I.A. in the Pixel world smh. I hear Samsung is the true Amoled king, but the last device I've owned from them was a mid-range 2015 phone, and that Amoled was awful too. I'm not willing to sacrifice the accuracy of every color on the planet just to have one true color (black), that math makes zero sense whatsoever. But outside of that I'm loving my Pixel, as I knew I would, because it's replacing my Nexus 5X.

I think it's a bit trivial unless you are really hardcore in this stuff.I'm fine even with 1080p, it's still full HD. And when times goes by you wouldn't care that much anyway about the colors and stuff. Unless it really is bothering you that much even after 2 years or so.

Hong Tse I'm with you on resolution, I literally couldn't care less about that. As long as it looks good I'm fine. But colors are another matter entirely. I'm not so sure I'm just going to stop noticing. I'm a multi-device user that's not stuck on one platform, so I daily see the difference between accurate and false colors. My hope is AMOLED will improve its color accuracy, because then it'd be game over! But for now it's a huge annoyance, except when I'm watching videos.

Tech for Kings ah okay, I understand your problem. It makes sense that you notice these things if you use different devices on a regular bases. For regular consumers it wouldn't matter that much. But give it time, there will be no differences at all in the future, spec wise. But then again, everyone has their preferences.
