Google didn't just reduce the chin with the Pixel 5, they made the side bezels THICKER so it looks symmetrical. This is what Apple have been doing with the latest iPhones for years - making thicker side bezels to give you an illusion of a thin "chin".

Eye'm rocking an almost purple Pixel 4a.. And that phone only came in "Just Black". You can do what you want. Especially with companies like dbrand, slickwraps, SophiGuard, there's cases... Don't let an option like color allow you to miss out on a great device. As far as an upgrade... There's nothing like a pixel experience and that would definitely be an upgrade

I haven't looked at the google 4 model review so I may be speaking prematurely but I find it odd that they brought the headphone jack back for the 4a (they took it away for the pixel 3). And then i'm disappointed because the 5 model didn't come with complimentary hardphones. I feel like as much as the phone cost that should be a staple you know.

Just got this baby! This is a great buy and there's nothing to regret. Most importantly, call quality is just fine. Nothing to worry about but of course I have had better. If you are willing to buy this phone, go and get it. The Adaptive Sound option also improves speaker quality but not the call quality. However, call quality is pretty ok. I have used in quiet, noisy environments and found nothing wrong. Thanks.

I currently own the Pixel 2 XL since it 1st launched. Normally I upgrade my phone about every 2 years, but I've been hanging on to it since. I almost upgraded last year to Pixel 4 XL, but the specs weren't compelling enough to upgrade. Now with Pixel 5, I'm conflicted again with a couple things based on its specs: Since the Pixel 3 XL, they went from a 6.3in display to now a 6.0in (please don't argue with me that wanted to go somewhere in the middle between the sizes of a Pixel & XL), also since the Pixel 2 XL, they went from a 1440P QHD display to now FHD+ (1080 x 2340). Lastly, the design I'm not a big fan of just because it looks too similar to the "a" line, and wished they kept it similar to last year with the 2 tone look from the back to the side rails (no hate on the return of all aluminum and being able to implement wireless charging). It bothers me that they made only 2 colors. Like why get rid of white after 5 years? I understand Google wanted to make a midrange phone this year. Personally, I think this should've been a $600, and if anything, it'll probably drop in price when Black Friday hit since last year's Pixel 4/XL dropped by $200. In the end, I will upgrade to Pixel 5 when the price drops since my phone will no longer receive software updates after December.

They seem to be trying to directly compete with Samsung, "of whom I Don't Necessarily Appreciate" 😏 In my Opinion, Samsung has Way Too Much going on, so to speak. More than I think most People want or Need. For awhile, I did like Samsung's Hardware, but Never Their Overly Bloated Software. I hope OnePlus doesn't continue to Follow Samsung Lead. It makes me think of when 🍏 came out with the DREADFUL Notch, and the following year almost every Android Phone had one. I actually have been waiting for a Google Phone for several years, (I now have a Nexus 6P which I Still Love - it works fine, just somewhat slow), but have found the Pixel Line Disappointing. Finally Google made a good looking phone! Every year there seems to be compromises with pixel phones, such as the huge notch on the 3XL and the huge forehead on the 4XL. I love how the bezels on the 5 is symmetrical throughout all the screen, unlike Samsung and the tiny hole-punch doesn't bother me. The phone is also really small compared to other 2020's phones, basically about the same size as the iPhone 11 Pro which is a well-loved size by apple users, but the pixel has a bigger screen!

I chose the FE over this because I also use the 4xl. But the five is a very good phone. If you like the purist of Android & the cameras, plus the user experience which i think is it's best feature. If I didn't have the 4xl I would have owned the five! It still offers much for the 💰 🤑!

Remember when OEMs decided they wanted to make their phones as small as possible, so most purposefully came with 3000 mAh or less batteries for probably at least 3-5 years. Then they realized that customers want that battery life, now all of a sudden phones are adding 4000+ mAh batteries

I preordered the sage Pixel 5. Reviewers like to tout OnePlus phones which I agree with but the camera and vanilla experience beats out for me. Also, design is better than OnePlus. iPhone is unappealing due to the OS. If iPhone ran vanilla Android I'd probably make the switch to iPhone. Android has really come a long way since just 5 years ago.
