Years ago I owned the Pixel 3a and loved how it performed and how little I got it for at the time. As a promo, I paid $200 new with a $30/month Sprint Kickstarter line at Best Buy. It was such a great bargain at the time but I finally ended up replacing it with my current Pixel 5. I love my Pixel 5 and it is still working great! This Pixel 8a looks like a worthy replacement for my Pixel 5 as it beats it in almost all metrics except unlimited photo storage in Google Photos. 8GB/128GB is my baseline. I'm not sure how I'm going to move on from my Pixel 5 as I take a lot of photos, but I have to seriously start giving it some thought. My Pixel 5 is no longer receiving security and OS updates and this worries me. The 8a will get 7 years of software updates, I need this! This 8a has so much going for it considering it is the "budget" Pixel. I loved my Pixel 3a it offered so much value, I wouldn't think twice about switching back to this A series Pixel. I don't want to spend more, $500 is a tough pill to swallow already. The $100 Google Store credit (I still need a screen protector and case for it, maybe A series earbuds) and Google estimates trading in my Pixel 5 for $120 would make this a decent upgrade if true.

A barrier to the a-series for me is the lack of Motion function on the camera and those bezels......love it overall though. It's so affordable right now. £230 after trading in my Pixel 6, directly with Google. That's insane!

ill get a google pixel for longevity when they finally stop to use a samsung heater chip inside and refine bezels(if they arent simmetrical is a no tbh, on that price point i can care about design) . pixel software is great but hardware is little bit trashy.. if you wanna keep it for 7 years it has to have good hardware. not talking about performance but heat, heat = unusuable, bad battery and even worse over time.. imagine that piece of heat after 7 years..

I am still surprised how at this price, pixel is going with such a big bezels all around the entire display, it makes it look ugly like a $50 phone. Phone like nothing 2a at lower price has premium look with thinnest bezels.
