Wow Google really took the game to the next level (considering its a 1st gen chip) And the same performance of pixel 6 at $599,there is not even a competition at that price
@ccbcco

Pixel 6 is phone of the year. GPU matters much more than CPU for "real world performance" these days. This is why Pixel6 competes SO WELL in head to head side-by-side "simultaneous tap to launch comparisons" of Pixel v.Iphone that are suddenly sprouting up all over youTube. When you add in all of the other perks and conveniences of Google software and the price it's an unavoidable value preposition. Pixel is the best phone for the money and is already disrupting the marketspace. Pixel is going to grow market share faster than any other phone in the coming year. And if Google comes up with a new tensor CPU that benchmarks better than the latest Iphone chip they are going to get market share from Apple as well.

I find it pretty interesting how reviewers usually try to diminish android phone’s speed when comparing them to iPhones. During the boot up you said the Pixel was “about couple of seconds faster” than the iPhone when it was clearly waaaay faster. I’m most cases when the iPhone boots up faster the description is usually very different.

This triggered me so hard haha Like oh yes I swiped through those tweets so fast that no human being could ever figure out any of the and those little stutters must come from the chip not being able to handle the animation ... Yeah like no could be the loading time that comes with loading 50 instead of 10 tweets in the same amount of time. If you scroll like a normal person the faster scrolling speed is actually making the phone feel faster and more responsive than the iphone.

Anyone with a good understanding of how these phones work would care much about benchmark. It isnt just abt the Chip when it comes down to the performance. The Tensor chip wasnt design to compete with A15 on how strong it can get. It is about a machine learning. With today technology, those number that show in benchmark will be reflected in real life performance with a difference in ms if not ns, which cant hardly tell from everyday usage.

I haven't finished watching the whole test but regardless who won can we at least agree than flagship smartphones today are more than powerful and fast enough for our everyday use? Longevity test is far more important than speed test I believe, especially during these times where people are holding on to their phones longer before upgrading. Reviewers should do a phone longevity test every few months to help people evaluate the reliability and trustworthiness of different phone models and brands.

Nowadays, smartphones have about the same lifespan when it comes to hardware. It is at the software level that it can have particular attitudes over time, depending on the smartphone and the policy of manufacturers. For example, when a manufacturer such as Apple defends the logic according to which IOS updates reduce the performance of old IPHONEs to ensure them a bright future, on what does the longevity of the smartphone depend in this case? Let's face it, all smartphones are the same when it comes to longevity and this despite the components especially in the high-end. People really want numbers, they want performance. They want to know who does better than the other or who has this that the other does not have. To conclude, we are mostly influenced by numbers. This kind of video answers the question of numbers but it is not a video that necessarily leads to a purchase. The question of purchase comes from the perception of each one in front of the product.

That's a very generous estimate based on if every KZbin video was a separate uploader which they definitely aren't. Even still, of all of the tiny amount of people rendering videos in the 1st place... Most are actual professionals/creators doing it for work proposes and so they're doing it on a laptop or a desktop computer that's far faster and easier to edit on than any phone. So this is saying we should disregard the vastly vastly vastly fuck it let's throw in another vastly because it's so infinitely much more important usage case to favor the completely niche usage case that almost nobody uses and even then it's a few times a month tops for a few videos. You are confusing this whole thing, I don’t think is ever possible for this pixel 6 pro to even get faster than iPhone 12, and about the notch, When it comes to unlocking a phone, Face ID just works, and it works well. And that’s largely because it does need all the tech that Apple fits in (including the various sensors, IR emitters, and the actual front-facing camera.) Android phones don’t have notches like the iPhone, but they also don’t have facial unlock systems that work nearly as well. And if a notch is the price to pay for convenience, it’s the one to accept, and I want you to know the new pixel are quite good but the whole comparison with the iPhone 13 Pro max feels like a massacre. LoL.

…see Speedtest G and you will see how far behind the Tensor chip is doing stuff, and the benchmarks in fact make them seem better than they are. The S21U on Exynos beat it by 20 seconds doing several intensive tasks and the iPhone is 10+ seconds ahead of the SD888! So, no, not really. The above tests are mainly to do with optimisations and single core performance, not multi-core or GPU and those are where the Tensor trails.

@@zimranchaudhry1987 Yes, never use benchmarks, Pixel is about enhancements, software and the extra tech. These all mean that the Tensor can be tweaked to perform far better than the benchmarks show. I agree with you. Just saying that no way is the pure power of the Tensor more than the A15 chip but as you say that is not the whole story. I also got £350 free headphones with my Pixel 6Pro and £90 off for loyalty (ONE subscriber) so the price point is much lower than even the sticker prices. Even with that I will admit the A15 is the beast and best by far in absolute performance.

During the Twitter test, the scroll on pixel was much heavier on the pixel, meaning with one scroll you go through a lot more content. The chip had to load more posts than in the Iphone in that particular test, that could be a reason as why there was stuttering, Iphone limits this by having the scrolling at a slower rate.

I would disagree giving the win to Twitter app on the iPhone, did you notice the amount of tweets you scrolled on the Pixel? is like 4 times more than you'd scroll on the iPhone, and definitely trying to load up the content would stop the device scroll if it hasn't fully loaded the tweets below. I wonder why people do not see that iPhone scrolling is slowed down, not nearly as fast as the Pixel

I wouldn't keep running those tests trying to figure out which phone is technically first. The game loading times were interesting. The video rendering seems like it will always go to iPhones. The refreshing on the Pixel for loaded applications was shocking. Hopefully the memory issues will be fixed in an update.
