Yes and no. Coming from the 8 Plus, the iPhone 13 doesn’t feel like that dramatic of an upgrade. It’s a good, if bland phone with some odd design choices. Of course the Pro and Pro Max are much better upgrades, but you’re paying a lot more.

I upgraded from XS. I returned my 13 pro and got a 13. The pro was uncomfortable to hold and I had to shift it in my hand constantly. The 13 was more comfortable to hold. I was willing to trade all the improved features because ultimately comfort is more important to me. I'm hoping that one day as batteries get better Apple will make lighter more comfortable phones, trading off a bit of battery charge.

Here is something you should look into when comparing speed of various phones. I often switch back and forth between Flagship Iphone and Samsung. From a purely user point of view the Samsung is always faster. After much personal testing I think its because the Iphone is noticeably slower at processing packets from the internet. It is hard to tell any speed difference between devices if the app is completely internal but apps (like banking, covid checking etc) that need to get small amounts of say flash data from the internet are much faster on Samsung (android). Curious, try it your self.

A little late to the party, I was choosing my upgrade device today following using a pixel 4 for 2 years. I was really close to going for the iPhone 13 mini but aside from the lack of a headphone jack (I like my wired headphones) the major point that turned me away was the lack of a TouchID unlock option. I get that the last 2 years of mask wearing and pin unlocking is, hopefully, a blip in existence, but Apple really missed a trick with that one. Under screen would have been fine, a Pixel style rear mounted reader would have been amazing (the apply logo as the unlock button would be freaking cool).

Hey, you can use an external DAC which will give you better audio quality and removing it is something actually good. And there are a number of quality external DACs which use Lightning and even one which uses MagSafe. And to be honest iOS 15.4 allows you to use Face ID with masks, no Apple Watch required.

@@aninditabasak7694 I ultimately dug out my old iPod 5.5 gen, upgraded it to flash storage, new battery and a fresh front case. Honestly, not having music get interrupted by notifications is really nice. Also having nothing handing off my phone was kinda what I was after, however removing a feature will never be "really good" - 3.5mm can be waterproof and I'd give up some battery capacity for it on my iPhone as I rarely seem to end a day below ~60% charge. FaceID will never replace a hardware fingerprint sensor for me, especially rear mounted, but that's just my personal preference.

I had an iPhone 13 Pro Max for two weeks. I've just returned it, and will wait for the S22 Ultra that is rumored to have an S Pen. When I couldn't rename a photo simply, and could not save a file from my job's webpage to the device, I knew I couldn't use it for work. The phone performed well as a toy, but just couldn't do the basic things i needed my phone to do for work.

I will say i have a s21 ultra and its the best feeling phone I've ever had in my hand. My previous s10 felt cheap while still paying 800 dollars for it. Iphones have always had that feeling in the hand but tbh they never have had enough features to sway me too their side. I almost did with the 12 but no 120hz is a huge turn off for me. They were so late too the party and i dont think an 2 hours of batery life and 120hz screen can even convince me now after the s21 ultra. No hate on people who have iphone tbh theyve gotta step up the speed in which they produce tech or "perfect tech." Tired of waiting 3 years for something android has had already.

I mean no, they don’t have to speed up the speed at which they come up with new tech. I’m upgrading from a 7+ this week to the 13 pro max and if apple didn’t have this slow and steady method to their technologies I highly doubt my phone would have lasted me that long and kept even my photos on par with most of the stuff my friends who Are on android post. All those features that android puts into their phones/os is neat, but all the basic things I want from a smart phone, the iPhone does better. They also have an insane community of devices that work well with each other and have so much compatible software that I absolutely cannot blame Apple for being slow and steady. At the end of the day it is preference though, I prefer simplicity done well over the opportunities to do a whole lot more since I feel like I use my custom pc to get that fix.

Samsung and so many other companies did already and it seems unfair too put apple on a pedestal for it at this point. I do also hate that damn bezel at the top for any iPhoneas of recently not that the 7s and 8 didnt have a great classy look bezel and home button. Maybe it's the preference for me because I think the compatibility that samsung has done with all of their devices are pretty amazing without having a standalone store and not being cheap feeling. My sister is completely in eco system with watches, beans, and her s10. I also think Dax is great too just keep up with messages right on my computer by the click 2 buttons. I'm glad with new line up samsung dropped the Bixby button but mad that now I have too press too buttons too turn off my phone. Not that it really ever has died on me or had to be restarted and after 6 hours of screen on time with me working and only being at minimum 60 percent think the phone is great. My girl has a purple iPhone 12 and it feels great in the have has great colorful and bright screen. The os never really jumped out to me maybe my roots on a Nokia garbage android touch phone. Or maybe it's the fact I like new features with occasional bugs I don't know. Anyways thanks for the comments.

They didn’t want it to be something you have to turn on and off in order to save precious battery life. But yeah like you said it is preference, i loved my iPod when I was young so I imagine there is a bit of preference rooted in my brain there lol.

TBH as someone who usually gets the highest of the highest level phones, I'm very happy they are creating a gap between the pro models and the regular versions. I honestly couldn't make the case for people to get the pro model of the 12, not that Apple needs me to.

That's all. If they are the same damn phone with a slightly better camera, how can I tell someone "get the pro model... cause camera?" I will not be getting the iPhone 13 Pro (or any model for that matter). For the first time, since smart phones became a thing (yes, I had the first Android phone), I can not justify an upgrade. Not because of cost or anything like that. It's just that we've finally gotten to a point that the increases aren't that important. I will try and hold off another 2 years just so I can see and feel like I have a big upgrade. Maybe they will release the iPhone Fold or whatever the hell they will call it.

@@ANabih-uo3zy android has more unwanted features some features are useful tho but it doesn't have the optimisation and quality of ios. the reason i use both is i have three sim card so i need two phones and i also do trading so for that i need iphone because trading apps and everything is so much better in iphone than android.
