Wow, I'm just blown away in so many ways. First of all, Google's software processing seems to be closer to the camera than iPhone or Samsung's. The video is great, too. It's like Google took a big step and sharpened their knives. They seem to really understand that consumers don't just want clean, sharp photos. And as always, this video is a feast for the eyes.

I comment mostly because these videos are so high quality. I hope Google continue improving their video. It's a noticeable step down from their photos. I hope video boost becomes on-device.

Thank you very much! I was genuinely impressed with the photos overall too; they’re excellent. The video quality is definitely improving, but a more robust codec would be beneficial, and the 8K video capabilities could be further refined. As you mentioned, having on-device processing would be advantageous, along with not just higher resolution and stability, but also enhanced color information. Google is definitely making significant strides!

Tensor G4 doesn't have enough processing power to do it on device( video boost) maybe next year if they'll bring TSMC on board 👍. Overall great device and great content big like 👍

I own a Pixel 9 pro xl, pixel 8 pro and Vivo x100 ultra. With what I have experienced so far, Vivo is hands down better in stills/photography and pixel excels in video and the operating system. The one inch sensor from the Vivo camera system plus the 200 telephoto APO zoom zeiss lens make a lot of difference when it comes to photography. I hope Pixel, Samsung and Apple would soon transition to 1 inch sensor.

Did you take a picture with 50mp by used pro mode or default 12mp?

I utilized Pro Mode often with the 50MP setting to capture both JPEG and RAW images. This allowed me to highlight RAW imaging, particularly in a professional context, and compare it to the JPEG format. I make mention to this around the 2:30 mark.

Hey do you recommend shooting in 4k 30 or 60? And HDR or no?

Great question! It really depends on the content and the look you're aiming for. For a standard commercial or cinematic frame rate, I recommend 4K at 24P. Keep in mind that fast pans may cause some glittering, which is common even with high-end cinema cameras. HDR is fantastic, but you'll need to either convert it to Rec709 or edit and export in HDR, which can provide a bit more dynamic range in the highlights. The 8K video boost is useful, but only at 30P; I'd suggest using 60P solely for slow-motion, as it may cause a slight dip in quality. Personally, for day-to-day shooting, I stick to 4K at 24P.

@@jasondefelice2710 Im glad it was helpful! When moving around 30P could benefit you and it is a common frame rate as well, it has less motion blur and jitter with fast panning. But overall 24P is solid and an industry standard.

I love the overall quality but: Both "portrait mode" and "cinematic video" can be achieved naturally from certain distance (and improved on 5x telephoto, really nice focal distance). To me those features are just a gimmicky thing that doesn't work good on any device, no matter if it's a Redmi or an iPhone.
