I've paid this price for worse phones that had better specs, but I was afraid to use it and end the day with 10% battery. Most people don't even use the power in the flagships, but argue it should have it anyway. I would also gladly pay for the ai integration as well and the unbloated software/direct software updates. We will see about long term use, but after 4 days I'm swearing off Samsung. I'll stay with Google and try an iPhone again once apple actually does something with their hardware that's a real upgrade.

For me, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is the phone of the year. As someone with a disability, I love the voice command feature-it's just impeccable, even better than on the iPhone. The streamlined and minimalist Android interface, especially in the settings, is another strong point. However, I'm not ready to switch from my iPhone just yet for the simple reason that the iPhone is still superior in terms of photo and video quality. The day Google understands that instead of focusing on unnecessary artificial intelligence, they should focus on surpassing the iPhone in photo and video capabilities, it will be a game-changer. You’re capable of it, Google-you have the money and the talent to surpass Apple. What are you waiting for?

People seem to forget the other pros of getting a google device over samsung flagships.. If you're already in the google eco-space using gmail for personal or business.. youtube apps and yada yada.. You can cut out all the bloatware samsung forces you to have on your phone. Less third party tracking.. Overall cleaner interface and simplified. Being a barely noticeable notch down, being a little bit cheaper without all the damn bloatware.. Immensely good feeling. My last Iphone was an iphone 4. ever since i've been a samsung fanboi but considering I use google products every day for personal and business. Im ditching the bloat..

The video and photo quality have not improved noticeably since Pixel 7 Pro, so we shouldn't expect it to be magically resolved via a software update. Also, the hardware and audio quality are (still) subpar. Finally, considering that the Pixel 9 Pro is now more expensive than iPhone 16 Pro, the better choice is obvious.

I have a new 9 Pro XL. I have owned a 6 and 7. No one is showing the delay when taking photos. When taking photos in regular Photo in Hi-Res Mode 50mp and HDR and More Light off, this new phone has a 1-2 sec delay in full sun days. It is taking a photo as if it is too dark. Is this normal? Was this how the 8 Pro worked? If so I am returning this phone. I need to take many photos fast and the Action pan is only 12.5 mp. The quality sucks. Some good things: Working with this phone for over 2 hours I feel the overheating problem is much better. My 7 Pro would overheat doing what I did for 2 hours. The finger sensor works. The old light one never worked for me. AI is faster. Another bad thing: You can not turn off Circle to Search like you could on my 7 maybe they did that on 8 I do not know. The boost video thing is lame and takes forever. Then you have to add it to your backed-up storage and I think that is the idea to sell more storage. Lame. I want this phone to work for me. Please let me know if you know about the delay. UPDATE: I found a post on Reddit that this lag was on the Google Pixel 8 pro when in Hi-Res mode 50 mp. If I would of known this I would have never bought this phone.

I don't think there's a workaround and I think it's here to stay because I read the Google pixel 8 pro had the same problem. I know Samsung's phones have always had more megapixels than Google phones. I wonder if they have the same delay with their camera app. I haven't found a workaround and I've worked on it for about 4 hours. It's completely unacceptable to have a delay when taking pictures and that's why I bought this phone for higher resolution. You can always set it to 12.5 megapixels but what's the point? There is no delay at that setting.

@@thumper0203 physically not that much bigger. Maybe a hair wider but about 1/4 inch taller. The real thing I didn't consider was that the pixel 6 has big bezels. Whereas the pixel 9 pro XL doesn't so the screen is much larger. Makes it hard to hold with one hand to operate. But maybe I just need to get used to it.

Watching this on my pixel 6 pro while my iPhone 15 is dumped in a pocket of my backpack. 3 years later this phone is still snappy, battery is absolutely the same and got a lot of extra features. Oh and it does great photos. The only minus is that 5g antenna stopped working as it happened with a lot of 6 pro's.

Comparing this phone to my Pixel 7 Pro, it appears 99.8% what the 7 Pro can do can be done with the 9 Pro. Doubtful I could tell the difference in processor speed even when streaming. Tech has minimally improved across the board during the past 5-7 years. Only the marketing buzz words have changed.

Gsmarena is not always on point with their benchmark test . I hade the 8Pro and trad it in and got the 9 Pro XL and been using the 9Pro XL for some hours and it is a worthy upgrade over 8 Pro .
