People spend entirely too much time complaining about Pixels lacking “raw power”. Pixels have never been about that just as iPhones have never been about smart AI learning. Each smartphone has its niche. Pixels have always worked mostly fine except for the random bugs and glitches centered around the Tensor chipset. If Google can stabilize those and ensure connectivity is fixed, battery life is efficient, and overheating is not an issue then Pixels will have fixed the main issues they’ve had since the 6 series. Benchmark scores mean nothing in real world usage because I’ve owned iPhones with high scores that couldn’t outperform some budget to midrange Androids. To me, Pixels are smarter smartphones and if they can manage to fix the Tensor problems then it’s enough to move the brand forward for most users.
@VaibhavsTech2 ай бұрын
I agree, and tbh, I think the same. But with my videos, I like to cater to all of the audience. And especially for the people who use their smartphones for some hardcore work, benchmarks are indicative. I've felt that the phone so far is quite snappy, and that for me is good enough but I want to test out its stability over intense usage, things like back to back 4K video recordings, editing, rendering etc. which will happen in the next day or two.

People get so caught up on things like bezels and raw power that they miss the point of Pixel devices. For years the top 2 brands were Apple and Samsung. Me personally i dont like either brand so having a stock android alternative is a huge deal. And while Pixels aren't perfect, each year they keep refining them and improving them. The 9 series this year looks like a turning point for Pixels to where they look and feel just as premium as Apple and Samsung. Obviously only time will tell if they live up to the hype but so far I've been impressed with the upgrades we've gotten this year.
@VaibhavsTech2 ай бұрын
I think the Pixels are more competitive than ever. But they also need to bring what the others bring to the table, and in my opinion, that includes raw power. The refinement is there, the optimization as well. Hopefully they live up to the hype!

Nice review! Looking at the specifications, the performance is Tensor 2 territory. I hope this is pre release version only. Is Google limiting the G4 For the Pixel 9? Some of the new Pixel 9 features will be limited to the US / Google covered countries. So you get a Pixel 7 at 900 EUR? Don't get me wrong, I love Pixels and I have the 7, the 8 Pro, the Tablet and the Watch 2. I am just wondering about their pricing strategy. And if you guys are saying in the comments that raw performance does not matter, I beg to differ. I am also using the Xperia 1V with the Snapdragon 8 gen 2 and it feels superior to the Tensor G3 in the Pixel 8 Pro in every single way.

How is the haptics?
@VaibhavsTech2 ай бұрын
surprisingly good! There's minute attention to detail when navigating and it's something I don't really notice on other phones. But I am also not sure if Pixel haptics have traditionally been good or not because I've not used them extensively in the past
@shahezahmed99602 ай бұрын
@@VaibhavsTech pixels have one of the best haptics on Android. It started with pixel 3. I guess now OnePlus and Samsung also started to give importance to phone haptics. It all started from iphone 7 when they dropped the headphone jack and instead included a haptic engine.

I guess it depends on your definition, but I wouldn't call the pixel 9 Google's flagship phone. That title goes to the pro models
@VaibhavsTech2 ай бұрын
The 9 series is flagship. Like how the 15 is on the iPhones and S24 on Samsung. Come to think of it, only the S24 carries the flagship name properly in comparison to the other two

The problem I have with Google is not the raw performance, I don’t use my phone for games (I own video game consoles). The problem I have is battery life, It doesn’t last me a full day so it’s not reliable for me. I currently have the 8Pro and SOT was 6-8 hours max while the iPhone 15 Pro max can last me more than 10 and so was the Oneplus 12, Honor Magic 5 Pro and even the S23 ultra 😒 so I don’t know why Pixel phones consume much power while idle
@VaibhavsTech2 ай бұрын
That's a fair point. I do think battery optimization is something the Pixel needs to work on. Although this time, with some testing I've done (a few hours since this video), the battery has held up well even when taking videos. But I'll have to wait and see!
@BrandanFischer2 ай бұрын
They're boasting around a 20% better battery life on the Pixel 9 phones. Whether that'll translate into real-world usage only time will tell, but they don't usually boast improvements to battery life like that so it has me hopeful that it'll be a noticeable improvement. I don't have an issue on my 8 Pro with battery life but any upgrades are welcomed of course!

Man, it's just a phone...how much more are we expecting them to do.
@VaibhavsTech2 ай бұрын
I think nowadays for flagships, it's always about justifying value for money, not what they can do. If someone gets this and notices it's heavily underpowered, they might regret it considering a budget smartphone these days also comes with high-end Snapdragon chips. Moreover, it's important to check out whether the core AI features are actually worth getting a new phone for. And camera, well, while I haven't gone into detail here, plays a part too. All those combined with durability make up a good phone in my opinion and if there's a sacrifice in either for a premium price tag, it needs to be pointed out.
@soulprovider70422 ай бұрын
@@VaibhavsTech I think my thing is why is AI so important and to be able to do all these different things on your phone. We are taking this thing way too far. There's only so much more they can actually do, because it's a phone. I don't need to talk to it and have a whole conversation with it, or create pictures and video. They are taking the creativity out of the human brain but because we can do it with a phone we don't even see it happening.
