Definitely tricky. Try the preview mode for phone, and then make adjustments. Just keep changing things until it looks good, but it eventually will!

What’s up. So I managed to embed some Vimeo links. However, I’m finding it hard to center them on the page. Also, when I preview the mobile version, the videos are all weird looking… like they are way too big for the display. Almost like they retain their original size and they are cropped to the upper left third portion of the frame. If that makes sense. Any ideas?

Hi Tava - I recently stumbled upon Google Sites and your videos (really useful videos). I wanted to ask about its responsive design. I built a site and some things are not displaying quite right on my mobile. For example: (1) the last letter from a word in my main heading is dropped to the next line instead of being re-sized to fit the whole word on the same line, and (2) my embedded links appear with scroll bars on my mobile instead of being sized to completely display without scroll bars. Do you happen to know the cause of these issues? Thanks!

Yeah unfortunately… you can change the Site Title font by switching your theme, but that’s the only way.

How do I resize button in header without changing text size? Every time I try to resize a button in my header it also effects the size of the text. I can’t find a way to unlink the text and button. I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking, but when you’re building your website on a computer, there’s a button to switch from a preview for computer, tablet, or phone. You can go back and forth making text formatting adjustments and then check to see if it’s formatting correctly in mobile.

Hmm interesting question. I don’t think you can make it bilingual in the actual google site, but Google does offer quite good auto translation services for all websites, and it works with Sites!

Hi, Make a copy of your website, Translate the copy to another language. Link the two sites together. Go to> add a page> choose link insteat of page, link to other site and vice versa... works great. 😀

Tava Kessler -- Great G-Site Tut. HOWEVER, isn't the GREAT shortcoming of G-Sites is the LACK of a BLOG? Have you figured out a way to create a functional blog in G-S? The lack of a blog is what discouraged many people from using G-S. In G-S Classic, people used the Announcements page as a workaround to create a half-ass blog, but NEW G-S ditched the Announcements page. IF YOU FIGURED OUT HOW TO ADD AN EFFECTIVE BLOG TO NEW G-S, then you will be the new G-S Chief Guru, supplanting even Steegle.
