As long as this is not something that can happen instantly and consistently on the phone it's already an L; for now at least.

video boost at night is like putting prescription lenses on

The video boost results look like the cover videos for preview. My results (right side of the video pair in Photos UI) are much cleaner and stable than this.

It seems like video boost is okay if you are not walking. The non-boosted video seems less jumpy and clearer when walking compared to the boosted video, but the boosted video is clearer when standing still.

I am not sure video boost is meant to improvr stabilization

Stabilization, dynamic range, noise, colors, all of that according to Google. I showed this in the intro reading it from their own product web page

Video boost came in clutch for me at Disney. It doesn't matter what camera you have though, you have to pay attention to how you're walking or you're going to get that jitter (if you're using digital stabilization) or motion blur/rolling shutter (if you're using a $3000 mirrorless and a gimbal). Pros do what they call a "ninja walk." I do appreciate this video, which shows what it will look like when most people use the camera in real life as opposed to other KZbinrs who generally use techniques (like Ninja walking) to make the cameras look the best they can be, but not necessarily what most people will experience.

I think video boost is pretty nice, I hope google is using their servers to train their algorithms so that this will come in an on device mode when their homemade tensor G5 arrives ...

For night time you have to use Night Sight Video, NOT Video boost! They're similar but night sight is meant for low light.

Not sure why we would do video boost at night while walking/running. Picked the worst scenario possible to judge Video Boost. Shouldn't we try it during more practical situations? Situations most people would be recording video?
@TheGPR1219 күн бұрын
I am very certain most of the video boost videos you have aren't boosted. It looks like normal out of camera video. Some of the boosted ones you showed were indeed boosted. I'd check those files because it's obvious when it's boosted and not and most of your were not despite you claiming them as boosted. I can tell

I had hopes but this is so disappointing. It clearly has some improvements but seems to be more shaky than the original footage, I don't think any of those boosted shots are usable. Compare to say an iPhone where it might have more noise but it isn't shuttering or anything.

I think it's a "meh" feature for now. But it will became a key point in the future if it will work on device, faster and a little bit better

No because hdr works only with 30 FPS video sadly

Not all of them, in very dark scenarios boos is better definitely, more detail and way less noise... But overall it's a bit disappointing, at the minimum it should have been on device...

I don't think they care much about Pixel revenue, they keep it just to have it... They are in the ad biz and AI and what not.

Yes thats the only explanation.They dont care because they have to much Money and want to be Part of the Smartphone Game just for fun.

Even if processing can noticably enhance the video, isnt the base material still shot with the same camera with the regular pixel 9? So either processing it yourself or using other AI options should also be able to achieve the same? Was quite set on the regular pixel 9. But nice videos in night light cities would be important. And I just noticed now that video boost is not only for the 8k gimmick of the pro but any video actually. Shame its a software barrier... But if processing later, can get same results as this on the fly cloud thing, it should not be too big of a deal.
