I found no way to turn of the confirmations the assist gives every time like "Okay, turning off 4 lights" which become so annoying after a while.

Okay so you're in the home, we get that. I want to know when you're in the car. We have Assistant in the car, when can I roll my windows up or arm my alarm on the car from my office or from the sofa?

the big question is why do I need an internet connection and send my data to a cloud to turn on a light at home? centralisation is not necessary, it's just a way to monetize and sell our data.

That's good to hear about the arbitrary third-party inputs. I eventually want to take a JSON feed from purpleair.com and use that to turn my LIFX bulbs the color of the current AQI level.
