One of the most exciting moments in my young life was being in the record store in passaic nj and holding london calling.my hands were shaking.i had heard the title song and train in vain as well as following them from their 1st album.i just couldnt wait to get home with it.i held that double set in the bag like gold itself.nervous that someone would try and take it from me.when i put it on my stereo platter i listened and listened and listened.sonic heaven.favorite song overall brand new cadillac.and of course the clampdown.

The first time I heard London Calling was laying in my bedroom with my two brothers and the local college radio station in New Orleans, WTUL, played the entire album. We bought a copy right away and 45 years later it’s still one of my favorite albums ever.

Spanish Bombs was actually my intro to this album. Heard it about 20 years ago and I was amazed by how fresh this album sounded and still does. It really is a magical album from start to end.

Though Sandinista! is often dissed by even some Clash fans, the album showed just how deep the Clash was as a band, despite the critics whining about it,London calling is the best, but the underrated Sandinista! is a good record too...js

Personally I would say its got a few good songs on it but i wouldn't say its a good album. But there you go heh ho if you like it then you enjoy it my clash comrade

I think if they had trimmed a little of the fat off Sandinista and released it as a single album it would have had a better reception and then maybe released all the dub stuff on a remix EP 6 months after or something .....but as joe would say I love it warts n all

Nice to see Rock n Roll Mick Jones pretty animated throughout this series. Last 20 years of interviews he's seemed pretty dull about it all.

Dfactor Pop It seems like every documentary post-Joe's death he's very bright. He looks back at those years more fondly perhaps because Joe was there with him.

London Calling, Exile on Main Street, the White Album, It's Too Late To Stop Now, Quadrophenia, Rock Of Ages, Electric Ladyland, Blonde on Blonde...... Hmmmm, what other doubles? There must be others!
Please, I need the French subtitles of the last three parts of this excellent documentary. Who can do this? Does the DVD exist? Please please please 🙏🏻. (Without The Clash we’re nothing ... 😊) ✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻

The cover printing featuring the pink and green writing of "London Calling" was clearly inspired by Elvis Presley's album no. EPB-1254. Joe?

The Strummer sections are taken from Don Letts documentary Westway to the world. The other parts, I'm not sure, but they are more recent, after Joe's death.

where is the original interview with joe strummer that this documentary features? I know I've seen the whole thing somewhere on youtube before.. I think it's been taken down though. Anyone?
