@@Salomon_G It is actually Maynards fault though because he puts too much time in all his other ventures. The music had been done they were just waiting on Maynard's lyrics. Can't blame him though, hard to have passion about something you've been doing for that many years.

It's already hard enough getting to the big scene and festivals don't do shit for you unless you have many followers or you have contacts in the industry. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BANDS!! @micanut48867 жыл бұрын
They do. If the entire presentation reminds you of other band, then the presentation does sound like either worse or better version of that artist. I hear Tool all over the place here. The Tool sound production is second to none, however, so everything else will sound like a worse version. Harmonies are so similar, instrument sound is slightly less perfect sound interpretation of Tool. I don't like copy cats that are too obvious. Being inspired by someone is plausible quality, but then you have to take it in different dimension in every aspect of the original inspiration.

+GooGuGajoob No I mean I'm a Tool fan and I completely agree. We chase off any band thats even close to prog rock for some stupid reason. For a group of fans who claim a higher level of musical taste and knowledge we are the most closed minded and venomous people out there. We are that 12 year old playing call of duty who calls everyone else noobs and claims we've been playing since the first modern warfare... Its just hilarious because we act like prog didn't exist, and then Tool happened, now no one dare build on that or become the "next" Tool. We're just going to complain about everything, shut down any new bands that dare tickle that same part of our brain, and wait until our extinction, because we even friggin get shitty to new tool fans.

here I am, more'n a month later. still listening to this UNBELIEVABLY awesome album on a daily basis. now, after christmas I finally have enough spare money to buy it. Sorry for listening to it so long without paying, but I told at least 60 people about it and send the link out like it was my own music, to be precise... more than that, I actually never send out links of my own music. This album is a masterpiece. I love the original character of it. The "lucid planet" in it, but i also love the slight lovenotes to their influences in it. the "lateralus rhythm" the at times alice in chains worthy snarling vocals, the "tesseract voice". but my favorite is the sitar-style sound in the first few minutes (those octave? chords). I used this album while learning for study, to relax, to inspire me, to simply enjoy it, to write... i even fucked to it several times. this piece of music influenced me on so many levels and had such an impact on my life... there are just a few albums that did that to me. dark side of the moon, lateralus, crack the skye, ghost reveries, 10 000 days and sorceress. and i don't list those to scale this band down, exactly the opposite. i totally admire those bands and albums and see lucid planet up with them, without any difference. And that is what i tell people, i list lucid planet with those as my favourite bands and tell them to check this out. and i am pretty sure that they will go big some day, because this kind of quality just has to. and then i will go full hipster and tell everyone how long i have been listening top them before, hahaha^^. no really... despite them maybe never seeing this... this album, your art, your music mean so much to me, made my life so much greater, so much better... I love it to death. Fuck those Tool cunts, I am an absolute tool fanboy and of course you are of the same genre... but... that is what I needed, what I want. YOU are one of the greatest bands I have ever listened to (and I have listened to a lot) and absolutely up there with tool, and I hope you don't take that as an insult. it is as if you told a radically religious person there is a second god and he listens to his voice and says, you are right, there isn't only one... not that I only worshipped tool before... but you get the point. And I don't want to say you copy them either. YYour music is a totally awesome and original own mix... it's just the same genre for me, the same league. deep purple and uriah heep, you know? I get carried away again... I just wanted to say how fucking awesome you are!

There ARE some Maynard-inspired aspects to this album, but I will tell you right now, the Lucid Planet album absolutely stands on its own. As much as I love Tool, the Lucid Planet album is actually a more cohesive piece of work. Tool is definitely louder, more varied, and more intricate. Tool has a HUGE body of work, I credit them with a MOUNTAIN of creativity, and they should be credited as magnificent artistic pioneers. With that said, the Lucid Planet album is a VERY enjoyable album that deserves way more credit than it receives. Additionally, for the few people that feel that Tool has "a few good songs but several other songs that are just not approachable", those people will find Lucid Planet to be just the opposite, in that the entire album in approachable with ultra-smooth transitions. I am looking forward to more music from these boys from Down Under!

It's more organic than tool, especially later albums like 10,000 Days. It has the raw emotion as tool's first album, Opiate, but with a much heavier psychedelic influence. There is a noticeable Middle Eastern persuasion that adds a layer of mystery the feeling of transcendence. Not as metal as tool, more akin to a Perfect Circle. Listen, like, and share these guys. This is real rock in a long drought of really REALLY bad music. For some reason, "Good For You" by Selena Gomez has over a million views on KZbin (admittedly 784,324 of those views were me). Pop music has totally sucked since the 90's with the rare exception. It's like tool - it's not tool - it's damn good anyway.

I found this band by a happy accident. I think it's fair to say lots of people (including myself) see similarities to Tool's music. In my opinion it's because the philosophy and soul behind creations of both bands is pure and harnesses fundamentally similar spiritual inspiration. At the same time, I don't think it serves justice to Lucid Planet to maintain this pointless comparison exercise. Their music is pure art and perfectly vibrant independent creation which should be appreciated as equal to all great creations. Also, please see their official yt channel.

Enjoyed your album; great work! The subtle rhythms and intense crescendos are well placed. The production value is great - well done, gents! I look forward to your next effort and, if ever in AUS, will see you! On a side note, people will always 'compare' to what they are familiar with and that's generally not a large sample of material. Let the hater comments go ... instead they should be asking themselves, "what have I composed, performed, produced, and put out there?" Answer - probably not a lot. In the end, what others think of you is irrelevant - the fact that you created this is fantastic. Keep up the great work. Cheers!

I only heard a min of this album and immediately thought of Tool they def sound like them and the art work is similar. That doesn't mean i dont like it, I haven't heard enough of it yet to know and ill give it a shot but don't tell me they dont sound like Tool or that its not cool to point that out.

I don't want to sound cliché, but this seems to be a fusion of Lateralus and 10.000 Days, beautiful, this stuff is crazy man

Very good sound. I'm quite impressed. Those of you condescending for others mentioning Tool should just relax. Not everyone has access to other people or radio stations that introduce them to new/different bands or genres. There's no prize for being first, or a long time listener to either a band or a genre. I'm nearly 50 years old and have been listening to Prog since my first vinyl record - Illuions on a Double Dimple by Triumvirat - which I bought only because it had a mouse on it and I was a little kid. I had no other folks hipping me to Prog. No matter how we found our way here, we're here now...all are welcome.

i think there r a lot of people mentioning Tool cuz when u look up Tool this band is recommended. So Tool loverz are directed to them that way and would not have known about them other wise.

2- Apparatus: Finally found the trigger Can you now see it through until the end? Or be redelivered Through the space of contentment surely spared Wide Awake In a dream Embrace The meaning Engage me Or erase me From your mind As this moment is temporary Fighting inside For the light to break through Not out of time Find reason to Carry on And remind myself I'm here and now As this moment's gone and letting me go Down and you look where you run Look where you hide Everything placed in the heart And it's all gone wrong There on the line, on the brink There where you breathe Laying it out in the open Is it undone Now, is to choose where you stand Live or to die By the ruling force of your hand Shine on through

3- Kairos: The ground below is falling And it feels so real that I’m attracted to this distance between us The walls are closing in My perception's differing And I’m addicted to this distance within us The storm is breathing in All of which remains And I am here Exhausting this in vain The tide is rolling in Connection torn away This is where we knew Our paths along the way The ghosts of past remain And my freedom’s stagnant Though I feel inclined to entitle myself to give you reasons The storm is breathing in All of which remains And I am here Here in vain now And I know I'm found in pain but I never realized I count the days And I know I will pass the wave but I never realized that I count each passing day that sends me by I reach the sign It feels too close For comfort Whatever that may mean I must remind Myself, this union Nearly killed my Waking energy As mending ends I search for more As mending ends I search for more As mending ends I search more

I'm so pissed that I read the comments. a lot of bands sound like other bands or have you not noticed? As far as tool "inventing" the genre do your fucking homework. this sound has been around since the 60s.
@dreamsweptgaming69388 жыл бұрын
The people making these comments have an exposure to music that is entirely limited to the 90s onward. They're the same people who can't see how bands like JP or Quicksilver Messenger Service would have an influence on anything modern.
