Hi Tom. Enjoyed the show today. Now I have some understanding of how they look at the transfer market. So unless their first choice is available and affordable they won't pull the trigger. So then they look at the other first choice in other areas. I understand but why then go for loans like Sterling and Neto or buying players past their best like Joginiho? If you know what I mean. Would rather go for youth and hunger maybe get a diamond than the quality and fitness fade with older player. Hopefully one of the first choices up front becomes available and affordable in this transfer window. Also if that is the philosiphy where did Martinelli, Marqinos and Lokonga come from?

@ that is true, but I believe that was not Arteta’s team and more so remnants of Wenger’s and Emery’s squad in all honesty. The 22/23 season is when Arsenal fully became Arteta’s team, in my opinion. I’m not saying that to take away from the FA Cup win cause he had to work for it as well. I just think there is a line we can draw that separates the team when Arteta first came in and when he finally got a team full of his signings. KK is fast, he just isnt in that Henry, Overmars, Walcott top tier bracket. Williams isnt in that top bracket either when you watch him sprint, he is a burst player and fast with the ball. KK speed is more in line with previous players like Sanchez, Hleb, Reyes type speed. He is probably faster than Saka, but what he shares with Saka though is that ability to run with the ball at pace in control and go past players either side, he has fantastic balance and agility to go past players.

As it stands we won't buy attackers when they have been available. Again unless arteta has worked with them (jesus) or they have come from another prem club even if they don't want them (havertz). Trossard was 2nd choice and cheap for 25 mil. There is also a strong case that saka may not come back and be able to play like he has been at least for a while.

Isak 34 goals in 139 appearances for sociedad but deemed not worth 65 mil. Havertz 32 goals in 139 appearances for Chelsea but deemed worth 65 mil. All from transfrmarkt. Why is that a mistake to say the attacking recruitment has been poor. Havertz now has 27 goals in 77 appearances for arsenal. Isak 50 goals in 89 appearances for newcastle. The same can be said for jesus 95 goals in 236 appearances for man city and only 26 goals in 96 appearances for arsenal.

Havertz. We had only spent more once in the club's history. After sales , we spent 160+ m in the previous 2 seasons & 130m the previous one. Never has the club spent so highly than these last few seasons, which was why we were touch & go in terms of PSR last January.
