MLS can now live up to the physical demands EPL (Rice comments adds to this) vs Ethan right now. We have seen Ethan cramp up several times in leauge Cup games, we don't know how his recovery is also. Arteta has eluded to physically in several press conferences and spoke about building him "brick by brick". A strange one really, he's had mins, Maybe it's game State and injury to other areas that's stopped him from playing more. otherwise it's an oversight really from the summer window as we were short in attacking areas.

Thoughts of playing 3 at the back with wing backs? Drastic I know, but we currently have alot of defenders on the bench which we can use to negate the lost of Saka and use more of the squad. It could look like this: Saliba , Big Gabi, Califiori Timber MLS Rice Odegaard Trossard Havertz Jesus If we wanted to be more attacking, Martinelli could come in wide to rotate with Timber as a wing bank and give him rest. We could use Tierney/Zinny on the left with MLS. Odergard to combine with Havertz on right and Jesus with Torssard on left. We could also use Ethan/Merino in rotation in those mid spots. Rice also could be more forward, Partey/Jorginho could work as the deeper player with timber and MLS as support or a player stepping up from CB to support. So we still will need a attacker in Jan, but it can be a player which to rotate Haverts and Jesus, which can replace Jesus longer term. but I feel this system will be more central threat, where we lack out wide currently. This will use our defensive players well. Something we should work on as an alternative plan.

The problem with this lineup is that the midfield has only one skillful player which is Martin , so forward passing will be limited.

Beware of Olmo, he's pretty injury prone. In the last 3 years he hasn't managed more than 1500 league minutes in a season (that's less than half a season) and has had some long injuries causing him to miss 50+ game since 22/23.

Martinelli is a superior player compared to Nico Williams and most other wingers. While adding another attacking option could strengthen the team, we should continue to trust in him-he has the potential to excel.

@ I know that but he was with us for 7 years and even more of a reason that he done us a wrongun was that they released him. So we put faith and resources into him only for him to do what he did and Chelsea ended up profiting off the back of us. I don’t feel that’s acceptable and nor did the fans that booed him. However, he did score against them and did a backflip so he redeems himself slightly in my estimation 😃
