I opened a 2017 coffee on Thanksgiving. It was so freaking good. It started off with some green pepper skin but it died off quickly. Then turned into exactly what you said - nutty brownie batter. And hardly any booze.

had the 2020 anniversary one probably sometime in 2021, and it was one of my favorite stouts I've ever had. I always think the reg bcbs is pretty solid, but now every year I hope to get a variant that is at that level

2016 was the first time I had BCBS Coffee, and I absolutely loved it. The coffee was so intense, and it had the perfect amount of bourbon barrel. All of the vintages of the coffee variant ever since have been a disappointment for me. There are a couple of variants of this year’s BCBS that I’m interested in, but I won’t be chasing them. Because of comments I tried this stout two years ago...not the 2016. Your explanation of this is what I look for in a stout. FUDGE. Favorite stout so far was Boulevards More Smore. Can't find it now but if I ever see a 2016 it's mine. 😋
