I remember this episode it was such a blow to me as a kid cuz I went from The haunted mask to welcome to Dead house and I think night of the living dummy 2 to this episode and it was such a drop in quality at least in my opinion

When John gets his brother Tom back to his normal age I wonder how those two boys are going to explain to their mother about their Aunt Dahlia? they can't say that she's a witch and try to turn The two boys into old people with some magic prune juice and forced them to Married two old ladies if I were those boys I would just say to their mother that their aunt left a while ago and said she not going to be babysitting them anymore and going to live in another state

Yikes, this one's not very good. Mostly boring, tonally confused and of coruse rather icky. But frankly my main problem was removing the backstory from the short story. At least there we had a logical rteason of who she is and what was going on. In the episode, she is their actual aunt who they seem to have met before. Like, if this was a great aunt they had never met (ala Monster Blood) it would be fine but nope. Instead, it has this major plot hole/weirdness that stands out given how overly simple the plot is already. The episode's ending is better than the story, the makeup is very good, and the acting is fine, but otherwise it's just boring and iffy. If this was an older audience, I'd be fine with this as a weird almost Anti Pedo Psa but it just does not fit for the 8-12 year olds. Plus, if the genders were swapped, this never would have been made...I hope. But hey, it's amazing compared to Say Cheese and Die Again. (Also, Grampies is a way better evil old people story)

Now that you mention it I didn't notice the pedophile subtext that was running rampant in this episode. I knew a little bit about it going in but now I feel a little dirty knowing about it. And there was a line in the episode that the cookies were their father's favorite insisting that she had also rapidly aged her brother for the same reason.

*SO* many questions (and warning, they're gonna get really disturbing as you read on): One, why did John ask Tom "Is she really your aunt?" They're brothers, so wouldn't he know his aunt too? Two, wouldn't it be impossible for the old women to take the boys with them to Miami and marry them? Besides, what company would accept the check for held hostages? Three, after Dahlia says, "You don't want anything to happen to your brother while you're gone, do you?" how do you think she would've responded if Tom had asked, "Like what?" Four, when Tom told Dahlia "I haven't stopped," was he indicating he was still pissíng in his pants? Five, speaking of pants, what if the "boys" had pulled down their pants to show off the "boys"? Think it would've repelled those women? Six, you think Dahlia would've aged and sold Tom if he was the same age she had last seen him (say, 5 or 6)?

The plot is meant to be uncomfortable and gross and faithful to the short story (except for the ending), you look too much into the details. Strained Peas is FAR worse in terms of plot and characters. The director of An Old Story did episodes like Attack Of The Mutant and Bride Of The Living Dummy, this episode isn't that bad if you look past all the flaws you mentioned. But I still respect the bronze skull, much of Goosebumps Season 3 wasn't that good for many people. ^^;

Uggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! I knew this would be the episode you were going to review. Believe it or not ik some people who actually like this episode. I'm not one of those people. I thought just about everything was awful from the plot, characters, acting, etc. The only thing I kind of liked was how the villain died. That was kind of cool. Everything else in this episode can just stay old and rot for all I care.
