I have the radio and I’m enjoying it very much. I am receiving FM stations my other radios do not pick up. Just a few hours after I received the radio, I upgraded it to version 2.00.1. What a difference! The AM can be selected to default to 10 kHz stepping and stations can be received to 1710 kHz. The RDS can be set to the America region instead of Europe. Auto scan works for all bands. I found that for AM, the telescoping antenna works well when the radio is outside, away from household interference. A few frequencies have noise from the radio’s display. The noise goes away when the radio display is turned off.

Thank you for the feedback. When you upgraded, did you do it on Windows 10 or 11? I have Windows 11, and the CH340 driver that is needed only says Windows 10, so I don't know if the driver would work on 11.

@@DG-zp2wz Thank you. I upgraded to v2.00.6 after finding out that it's a stable version of the firmware. There's lots of good additional features in version 2.

Basically if you don’t live near the AM towers your reception needs the Terk Antenna is necessary I see the FM is stellar which is very good

This radio amazes me its one of the Smartest radio I've ever seen it's like a cellphone but as a radio its the closest as a SDR

I bought this radio last month and received it a few days ago, but the high-frequency noise is serious when receiving AM radio. So, I purchased a ferrite core and when I receive it, I plan to attach it to a telescopic antenna and test whether it is effective in eliminating noise.

wall warts ( low power adapters) affect am signals... for short wave a ground to the radio will improve it immensely.

Good, I just ordered it on Amazon, should be here soon, for that price. I have several of these SDR type receivers. They usually do receive FM well. I would like to see HD more on receivers. Back in the early 2000's, I had a JVC receiver installed in my 2001 Camaro, which had HD, CD, and an ipod input. No blue tooth or thumb drive input back then. I have a few receivers with HD such as Insignia, Sangean and my new ETON multiband receiver😊

@tvradio1972 😊 Thanks, it will be interesting to compare with my other SDR and standard receivers. We have a good FM location at about 300 feet, in the clear, about 30 miles NW of Boston, MA in Southern NH. My wife and I are both amateur radio operators and still go back to Westchester County NY, where we have mostly lived before. I have DXed FM and TV many times in the past. In the 1960's, I would take Black and White Polaroid, instant film, from reception far away, around a 1000 miles away, on TV, such as Florida, the and around the South Eastern US, even out west to Kansas, such as Channel's 3 and 6, not used in NYC. We do the same on amateur radio on the 6 meter, 50 Megahertz band, and on 10 meter, around 29 Megahertz repeater. On a 10 M repeater in Switzerland, I was able to reach Lebanon, briefly, last Thanksgiving.

I don't think adding HD fm is on a firmware update, but rather built in Hardware, on my Insignia, and other receiver with HD FM.😊

What is your location? Are you on Long Island? If so, is it Hempstead, Brentwood, etc.. Picking up WAEB is quite the DX, but it also depends on your location and how high you are. Same with K104, most of the northern section of long Island can receive K104 out of Poughkeepsie, with a good antenna. If you are on the southern end, this is more difficult.

In Clifton, New Jersey, I can get WSPK "K104", but I have to point the antenna north/south. Pointing the antenna east/west gets me W284BW. That's just under regular conditions. When there's tropo, either WELJ or WQHQ will come in depending on propagation. Thank you for watching, and have a good weekend.

Hi Michael. Regarding the mediocre at best MW reception on the whip versus the passive tuned loop, the whip is receiving omni-directionally signals and RFI in your environment. Whereas the passive tuned loop is directional and can null RFI and focus on signals directionally. Take the set outdoors away from RFI sources and then try MW. How does it compare with the QODOSEN DX-286?

I like the MW better on the DX-286 because it has a ferrite bar antenna, unlike the TEF6686 receiver. Both are great when using a passive loop, though.

doesnt sound very FULL BAND to me... misses airband out... misses DAB for UK which is in the 200mhz range... and why doesnt it have 27 to 88mhz...

I don't know, but I guess that's the way the radio was made. I would have loved to have seen it go up to 30 MHz to cover all of the HF frequencies, though.
