But it is exactly how science works, obviously its an oversimplification because density, location etc etc are all variables that affect the result. However there will be a level of CO2, including location and density, where the negative effects of climate change begin receding. But instead she denies this and then states that the right thing to do is to lower our emissions as much as possible. That is denying the scientific elements of the debate and replacing it with a cliche of 'try our best'. That showed how she doesn't know what she is talking about. Another thing that highlights this is her desire to appeal to emotions, using her 'metaphor' calling people to panic. Combine these two and you have a child who really is out of her depth. Nonetheless her answers are really good and for her age she is obviously very well spoken and thinks things through. Unfortunately she's like a swan amongst sharks.

It is funny that you just come up with a number from 500 MILLION YEARS AGO without context. That was different planet, everything evolved to live in those conditions and when conditions changed rapidly, as much as 99 % of life died. That happened several times, wheter the cause was asteroid or massive volcanic eruption, the result was rapid climate change that killed nearly everything because it altered air composition, weather and temperature. If CO2 was 20 000 PPM now it would also be a problem if it was falling rapidly, because it would not give time for species to evolve different breathing or diet for example. Therefore the problem of today is not that there is some 'magic level' of CO2 that would kill us all, but the rate at which it is changing, due to our influence, over historically negligible time period. As you said, we are releasing the CO2 from dead plant life and that drives this change. If you have to use Earth from some 500 million years ago, when it was a different world dominated by insects or weird sea creatures or whatnot for comparison, then we have a problem, cause we aint neither of those. Also notice that this change is only comparable to some natural catastrophe or event, that is how unprecedented this change is. We need certain temperature, we depend on predictable weather, our agticulture needs predictable rain and flooding and so on and we can already see changes in weather patterns and so on. If we ignore it, sooner or later, we are due to fall on our asses, and hard. On the same token, sea level rise itself is not the issue, the problem is that many ecosystems would be destroyed, some 90 % of humanity lives in the potentially flooded zones and most of economic centers lie there, if you are not worried than I don't know what will make you think about it.
