Mitch McConnell in a fever, spent the last four years encouraging older conservative judges to retire early so that they may be replaced by younger conservative judges.. Going back to the Obama administration, didn't anyone think to encourage RBG, already in her 80's, to retire rather that to risk having to go through 2 republican terms? It wasn't that we didn't have faith in RBG, it was an important strategic move to preserve a balanced court.

SO, I would pay $908/ MONTH for the same insurance that would cost me $38/MONTH, IF I made MORE than $16,500 a YEAR. Thanks Gov. Parsons. Dems are no longer the party of the people. They haven’t been in a long time. There is no real incentive for them to fight for us. I applaud the few soldiers we do have like The Squad and Sanders fighting both sides on our behalf, but there’s not enough of them. We need to vote in more so our voices are truly heard. Out with ALL the old on both sides. Time to get back to voting in true civil servants.

@@mskraft If you're talking about voting third party, that only helps Trump, because you'll only be dividing the Democratic vote. You will be helping Trump. The numbers will not work in third party favor, and if Trump wins reelection, there will be no hope for what you want. He will do what he wants, and none of us will like that. I don't think the nation can survive another four years of him. I would beg of you to reconsider and vote for Biden. He's not against anyone in the US. He's older, and he's white, so you do get older white man with him. But he is teachable. I would stake my life on it. If he doesn't see something he should be seeing, he will be willing to realize that and come around. He is teachable. Trump is not, not in any way. He's just trying to stay out of prison. As long as he's in the White House, he cannot be indicted. Please understand, a third party will not have the numbers to win this election. You will only be helping Trump, and he is very much against this democracy. I believe he will do anything to hurt us if Putin asks it of him.

I do have a question. If we were to lose the presidency to Trump but we were to gain both the house and the Senate could we possibly how both the house and the Senate add more justices make it 13 instead of nine so that rulings are more even? I don't believe there is anything in the Constitution that prevents us from increasing the amount of Chief justices. I wonder if this last ditch effort would work. It might not do much but at least it would help.

I’ve never been scared of Trump until now. I always knew that if either the senate or him would try anything extreme then I knew the Supreme Court would intervene. I also knew that no matter what Trump did in his four years of office there was no way he was going to win the next election because by then I had assumed that the Democrats would’ve had a good candidate that could beat Trump in a landslide. However, I didn’t account for two things. 1. It was enough seats getting cleared up for Trump to fill them. 2. The Democrats’ need to lose for some reason. 2016 should’ve been a sure election, but it was close for understandable reasons, so I’m not too surprised that they lost. Now it should be a complete one sided election and somehow they’re still struggling. It’s like the Democrats are being intentionally incompetent for some reason.

There are a number of ways to reform the judiciary and they can be used together. One is to increase the size of the court to create new vacancies to fill. Another is to include court-stripping provisions in laws. Citizens United could be overturned by including the phrase "this law shall not be subject to judicial review by the US Supreme Court" in a campaign finance reform bill. Another is to pass a law subjecting the Supreme Court to term limits, and to include a court-stripping provision of that bill to protect it from being struck down by the court's right-wing majority.

SCOTUS should be elected every 8 years and each should represent 9 regions of America. Each election they need to collect 65% affirmative votes. If they don't, then they are removed the following election cycle. This would give each party, (D, R, I) to put forth their replacement for the region. The one with the highest vote count would take the open seat.

when you read the history and the chain of events which led to the civil war 150 years ago and compare it to the social, economical and political situation of 2020 and the chain of events which has brought us to this exact moment there is only one conclusion you can reach. US democracy (or whatever you want to call it) has failed, and this means another civil war. the end of democracy in the world because as defective our system is (or maybe was) it was still the model democracy for most of the world. our failure is the begining of another dark age. the begining of an unprecedented crisis, resurgence of fascism around the world, rapid decline of global security, economy and the destruction of global environment and total chaos. trump should have been removed one way or another during the past 4 years, he should not have been allowed to run as the gop candidate back in 2016. even if he is somehow removed from power in 6 weeks from now the damage he and gop have done is irreversible. in a mere 4 years the gop under trump has managed to completely destroy the sole of US constitution. i am just tired of calling them names. and i am tired of thinking what is about to follow. there is no hope for anything.

Voting is NOT a term limit. Nothing stops someone from running again (except for the presidency) in the same or different district/city/state. If term limits ever become a thing, they should apply nationwide for all federal level positions. Obviously states would have to decide if they would follow a similar system and I'm of the opinion that lower seats of power deserve longer limits because the constituents of those seats have more power to control them. Fun fact: someone can be president for more than 2 terms. Hint: the 22nd amendment only limits _elections._
