Thank you, It cost me just mirror ($30) from eBay. I followed your instructions and fixed it. Just to add, I have 2007 Corolla CE and it didn't have speaker near mirror, I did remove entire door panel and then realized it was NOT needed as mirror wire attachment was just behind first small cover, so with CE version you may save time on removing door panel.

I want to say THANKS for the useful instructions & tips in a very easy to follow video. It made replacing my sister-in-law's (passenger) mirror on her 2005 Toyota Corolla a breeze! From beginning to end, I spent less than an hour. As far as the speaker cover, it just pops off by pulling outward from the door frame, gently but forcibly. Start with it first, and install it last.

Right side mirror replacement - 2009 Corolla. Thank you, for your very well presented video. It’s the best one I found on KZbin, even if it didn’t include the 2009 model. I wouldn’t have felt confident enough to make this repair, if I hadn’t found it. Only difference as: On the door panel, there’s 1 Phillips head screw underneath the door opener and 2 more under the little place that people use for loose change. Other than those differences, everything went smoothly as you showed.

If your just tightning The side mirror you only need to remove the triangle speaker piece but if you're replacing the side mirror as a whole the reason you have to take the door panel off is to get to the wire harness that gives your side mirror power for electronic control. It is hidden under the door panel.

This video was spot on for a 2005 Corolla. For me it was as easy as it looks. The only detail I'd add was I needed a deep well socket. Don't recall if that was called for in the video.

If you have manual window control you don't take the whole panel off you just pop the clips off and that allows you to get your hand behind it to access the wire harness and don't use an extension on your ratchet

So long as you dont have damage to the wiring harness itself you dont have to take the entire door panel off. Get the corner panel off with a shimmy, unbolt the mirror, carefully pull the wiring up and out (you dont have a ton of wiring so dont yank it or you might fray something) and just reattach the plug

Two alternatives if your car is old like mine: 1)cut & join the wires carefully with electrical tape (won't have to pull as much of door away or need harness), 2)use a "manual" replacement mirror instead of an electric - then you just replace old with new & have no wiring.

A hit and run happened when an 18 wheeler made wide right turn, right into my land on a diagonal,breaking off my Lt.mirr mirror unit I will buy a rachet and have help from my son. I can direct him with the steps with the computer in the car. I lack strength, but he and my husband can do it.hopefully. I had already cut my thumb even with the damaged, hanging old unit covered by a plastic bag from the car. Would like to get a car camera. THANKS!
