The use of the the mount system is to make it easier to add something like the bite mount so you don’t have to take it off you can just pop it straight on to the el grande

I also got this new model of el grande. Was SO disappointed to find out that they removed the tripod thread at the bottom which was part of the older model. The older model also included a lanyard! I guess they want you to buy the max pole instead? I’m going to try to return it.

Having reviewed both the goPro Max grip and the El Grande, which do you prefer, and or use? Do you find the El Grande to be too big and the Max to be too short or does the El Grande give a compromise? Also, is the weight of the el Grande (13 ounces, a factor in carrying about? don't complain about that mount... the mount is amazing because it's so versatile. I do a lot of surfing etc. If i would use these standard thread mounts you have, it would simply unscrew because of vibration. On top of that it is super anoying to screw and unscrew the camera all the time. The gopro mount is awesome, and i really like they have it on the el grande

I think GoPro had an older version with a wrist strap but now they just don’t include it, probably to save a couple cents. Ridiculous in my opinion

Yes it does, very good action pole, just a little bit pricey, but look at SANDMARC series of action poles, and a less price SMATREE poles. I hope this helps.👍🏿🇬🇧

Pretty obvious why they’re using quick release clips now, they’re trying to make that the new standard. And it’s a much better way than using thumb screws. I’ve got the El Grande, Handler and my Paddleboard Mount all set up with quick release clips and it’s the quickest and easiest option for anyone that wants to swap mounts regularly. If you’ve got any accessories that don’t have a quick clip on, you can get them from eBay for less than £5.

I wish I saw this video before buying el Grande. It's a decent pole and for its purpose though.

I have say gave it a try either in a swimming pool or bath tub, every time I see GoPro Official footage they seem to have a wrist lanyard, that includes the under water footage.
