Lock shutter at 1/240 in low light for clean Hypersmooth. Unfortunate, these usually also means a higher ISO. Some people have said locking MIN and MAX ISO to the same value (800 for both) also helps.

Hi Rob. Thanks for putting this together. I ride in some pretty dark places. Hero 7 is due to arrive imminently. Would you recommend setting the max iso higher to encourage the hypersmooth e.g. 1400/1600

I really enjoy watching this video!! Honestly for comparison between 2.7k vs 4k, it is really up to the individual of what they want their video to look like. For me personally, 2.7k is really awesome to showcase the story of the video especially when comes to MTB riding. Where as 4K is too clear like watching HD channels on TV and stressing on the eyes. But don't get me wrong, both resolutions are great!!

2.7k no different to 4k as far as I can tell but the 4:3 ratio looks better than 16:9 on my laptop. The other settings are a bit too subtle for me to be able to tell... keep it up Rob- loving the footage.

Nice video man. I did some tests yesterday too with my new go pro. I had the same problem like you. When I came into some shadow parts in the Forrest the material was really jiggery. It's unwatchable. Someone in the forum gave me the Tipp to put the GoPro to a fixed shutter speed like 1/120. I'll try that. I also have to mention that I used a chest mount. Today I build a mount for my normal Enduro helm on top and also will test this. I don't if the chest mount is stable enough ... My settings I want to test are: 2.7 / 4K 30FPS Superview EV -1 Iso max 800 1/120 shutter Wb 5500 Flat

Rob, I've been experimenting with my 7 also. I find 2.7k at 30fps superwide the perfect option. E. V comp 0, WB auto, mic auto although I will set stereo with my wind slayer here now. Min iso 100 and max 800. Found this better in lower light although it does get jittery at times. A firmware update may resolve this. I do not grade as my comp is just to slow. Upgrade at somepoint. I think gopro colour protune does a pretty good job. We still need to meet Rob as proposed. Be a good laugh and comparison

In low light settings, don't just set a higher Max ISO, Bump the MIN to 400. The camera will try for the lowest ISO forcing it to use a slower shutter (more blur).

@@JudoSurfer really useful. Have you tired this bud
@JudoSurfer6 жыл бұрын
@@MikesMTBAdventures yes, but still playing around with it. I was just setting the max higher but still getting some blur. Set the MIN to 200 and it helped a little, but 400 with a lot of shadow seemed to work more consistently and doesn't bring in much noise. Haven't tested yet, but I suspect locking the shutter (not the "cinematic" doubling of fps) to three or even four times the fps might work too. Mixed lighting might be an issue though. Locking shutter should allow for lower max ISO (I hope).

Not sure if my answer is correct when shooting in 30 FPS you have to upload in 30 FPS same for 120 FPS or any other. Also your memory card needs to be up to par for catching the data for 4K.
