Zulf Photography thanks for watching 😃👍 Yes, the GoPro is a lot smoother and deals with shakes far better. However, it is a lot more expensive.

Good to see the comparison with a GoPro. I'm testing the older Crosstour and have been pleased.

Zulf Photography I should have added a photo of the cameras in their mounts. This is the latest CrossTour CT9500 that was released in November 2019. It has a square lens.

Nice comparison video. I have just bought the Crosstour, even though the Go Pro is obviously the better camera. It is more in my price range, for what I want it for. I've spent the afternoon researching action cameras, and the prices are prohibitively expensive for the high end models! 😵
@skippysadventures12344 жыл бұрын
Ulrika Mcleod thanks for watching! 😃👍 Yes, the high end cameras can cost quite a bit. There’s always the option of getting an older GoPro Hero 7 instead of the latest GoPro Hero 9 and saving yourself a packet. Also, I’m sure spending a bit of time in adjusting the CrossTour settings to suit the particular requirements could increase quality of videos - I used it straight out the box and didn’t attempt changing many options.
@Kungs.4 жыл бұрын
The thing is with the Crosstour the software doesnt always work as its supposed to. The lens angle settings do not work on mine.
@skippysadventures12344 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yes, there were a few niggles that bothered me with the CrossTour, most notably was how easy it was to disable the microphone. Also changing to wide angle view disabled the electronic image stabilisation. I haven’t taken much time to really get into the settings as I’ve decided to stick with the GoPro. A few months back I sold my DJi Osmo Pocket - now that’s a very good camera for blogging and panning shots because it has a built in gimbal.

Does the CT9500 have a motion detect feature?

It's rather strange the CT9500 here is set at 60FPS where it is being advertised at a max of 50FPS in 2021, has the FPS been reduced?

Yes, very strange indeed. Be sure to check the resolution because an increased resolution results in a lower frame rate. Thanks for watching 😃👍

I have this Crosstour and the image stabilization is very efficient.
@Lethal_Venom4 жыл бұрын
@@marians1805 Maybe your idea of very efficient and mine is different because from what I can tell in the video these two cameras are not on equal footing. I've always had the belief that you get what you pay for. I find it hard to believe that you are going to get gopro quality out of a $100 camera.
@DanielsCollection4 жыл бұрын
Obviously you will get a better camera if you buy the gopro. Does not take a genius to figure that out. This video is to compare the two and see what you will miss out on if you go for the cheaper option.
@Lethal_Venom4 жыл бұрын
@@DanielsCollection You miss out on any video stabilization at all with this cheaper camera. When its listed as having stabilization and in fact has none or does a horrible job at at doing so its just proves how cheap it is. I was not expecting wonders out of this thing I've always bought gopro's because I'm not cheap or broke, I just wanted to see how this thing compares and it sucks.
@DanielsCollection4 жыл бұрын
@@Lethal_Venom Well there is image stabilization. Maybe not as efficient as a gopro or dedicated powered gimbal, but there is image stabilization. And you can find plenty of examples on youtube. For a camera under 100€ this is a really good option.
@ericcccccable4 жыл бұрын
There is no comparison possible, the GoPro is doing better in all cases. Better to film with your smartphone than with the Crosstour. Its price is therefore still too high for this image quality.
@skippysadventures12344 жыл бұрын
ericcccccable absolutely, although it may be difficult to attach a smartphone securely to a mountain bike as. The GoPro quality is far superior but costs three times as much as the Crosstour CT9500. I dont have suspension on my bike but I dont have any shake like you mate on the croosstour 9500. That noise is a power on /off button moving, so put a tape on it, white painters tape and you will not hear that noise. Crosstour is good camera for the price
@skippysadventures12344 жыл бұрын
Marcin Kaszubowski I used both cameras ‘out the box’. I’m sure there will be a way to adjust the camera settings to lessen the screen shake, but the point of the video was a direct ‘out the box’ comparison between the two. Yes, the CrossTour is exceptionally good value for money, but at the same time a person has to weigh up the cost versus image quality that they desire. Thanks for watching my video 😃👍

Tbh for what I'm using it for just to record my scooter rides makes no sense spending £300+ on a gopro when I got my phone and a Sony A7III.
@skippysadventures12343 жыл бұрын
That’s true because it all depends what you use the camera for. For my requirements I needed a rugged, waterproof camera for snowboarding, so I settled on the GoPro. It’s interesting to note that there isn’t too much of a difference between the yearly new release of GoPro. A GoPro 7 is almost as good as a GoPro 8, and similar for a 9.
@scorpa1063 жыл бұрын
@@skippysadventures1234 yeah if that's your main camera and you got the budget for what you're doing you want the best specs you can get and also if you have the money. But if it's something you occasionally use for something little and specific like just documenting your commutes for more personal use then the cheaper option is the route I'd say. I checked for Hero 7 and its still around £200+

@skippysadventures12345 жыл бұрын
See my conclusion at the end of the video. It all depends on what the camera is being used for. If you’re serious about filming then get the GoPro, but be warned that GoPro Cameras and accessories cost a small fortune! If it’s just to have a bit of fun for a low price then get the CrossTour CT9500 which comes with a box full of accessories.
@ThStg4 жыл бұрын
Crosstour 9500 As personally I would NEVER, EVER!!! go anywhere near a go 💩 far too expensive & definitely far too overated for what you are supposed to get. But, there people STUPID enough to buy these things & spend a small fortune on a action camera that's simply only a, 3rd of the rice, probably less, & gives almost just as good results. The only camera I really & highly recommend is the DRIFT INNOVATION STEALTH ( IF AVAILABLE!!! BUT, QUITE RARE or at least very difficult to get hold, of ) or if not any of the DRIFT INNOVATION RANGE they are simply the very best their field ( sadly not cheap anymore) But, best in video quality & sound against most others & they ain't bad either without a external mic But, with a decent quality external mic the quality can go right up. But, I would always use a camera that has a review screen on it not just a menu ( set-up screen) But, the choice is always down to the actual individual.
