Bless you, kind sir. I was going mad wondering why my screen froze. I rubbed it with alcohol, tried restarting and nothing worked. Now I keep my finger on the side and the screen works like a charm. Thank You.

I’ve never had the touch problem but hopefully someone whos having these problems see this video, I know a lot of big KZbinrs that do reviews always bash GoPro for it. Great video 🙌🏽🤟🏽

Man, I reeeeeally appreciate you sharing this hack. I've only had my hero 9 for about 4 days and have been sitting here for the last hour fumbling with this unresponsive screen issue. Your tip worked instantly and seems to be working every time it becomes unresponsive. This makes sense so that you aren't getting unwanted changes to settings when using the GoPro. I feel like it is a "feature" but may actually make for a better experience in some ways if your GoPro doesn't change things on you mid-recording.

Thanks. Great insight. I still think it still very frustrating and it seems like there is still something not perfected in their touch screen system. Not sure how it compares to DJI or other action cameras.

Interesting, I had the same type of issue with a touch screen display with a fish finder on my boat, and the issue was with electrical grounding. That would explain why we need to touch the case, that provide additional grounding and help the screen to work better, thank!!

I've had my GP9 about a week and noticed yesterday the screen response is much improved by holding the camera with my other hand when accessing the menu options. I was thinking that because my fingertips are very dry due to diabetes it might have been causing the problem. I've never had any issues with a touch screen display, this is a first.

Does this tip still work with the media mod installed?

You just have to make sure that you are touching the camera under the media mod, like even the front screen should work from what i have experienced

@@115chandler1 Thanks! I ordered a GoPro 9 after finding your video and hearing there was a way around it! I also heard that the firmware update in June pretty much resolved the issue too.
