People who complain that GoPro quality is bad really need to see this video. If you get the settings right and know when to use what, you can get epic cinematic videos with this little camera! Just bought ND Filters for my hero 9 and tried them a couple times. I dont know if they make the footage better, but its a big difference. Its interesting to hear that Gopro seems not to use them for the commercial shots.

Is there a way you can change the settings on the go pro so when you record it doesn't split your video into sections? when I use it for recording, a recording that took an hour is divided into 5 different vids, can we change that?

You can with GoPro labs! it's a specific firmware you have to load on but you can customize it to have up to 12GB chapters.

You can’t rename the existing ones, but you can create new ones; however there are only a few names in the list to choose from. They aren’t great and I’ve asked for a long list to be added !

This is really useful information. But there is still more that is needed: 1. 4K (or 2.7K or 1080) resolution is not cropped. So how is the lower resolution 4K (2.7K 1080) achieved from the 23.6 megapixel sensor without cropping? Line skipping? 2. How is linear achieved? Is digital correction applied or is it from cropping off the edges, and, if so, what is the true resolution when one is shooting 5.3K 16:9 Linear as opposed to Wide? 3. Why is stabilization better in Linear than in Wide (as you claim) for, say, 5.3K 60P 16:9, for the same stabilization choice?

I just purchased a GoPro hero 10 and did some short videos having problems viewing them on the computer they're kind of jumpy I did download a codec app also but it didn't seem to help much I'm running Windows 10 any idea why? it's like it's not buffering something???

Thaks for your awesome tutorial!! I shoot in manual using the 180 degree rule while observing EV (exposure value) keeping it at or near -0.5 when choosing proper ND filters. With the GoPro, EV is disabled when shooting manual for some unknown reason therefore, how can I make sure I have proper EV? I really don't want to judge exposure solely by looking at the LCD screen when swapping out ND's. Thanks again for an awesome presentation! 👍😊
