My grandson (4 y/o) loved this video. He is in a mechanic phase and you used pretty much every one of his play tools. Thank you for sharing this.

As a service tech my quick advice is when taking off the lugs, gather all 4, 5, 6, or 8 lugs in your hand and then put them on the rack. Rather than putting them up one by one. Its a lot faster
@RyMann887 жыл бұрын
He looks new at the point of the video, he'll learn. It's more important to do each step slowly at first as it helps build muscle memory.

I have a question, I'm 15 and very interested in becoming a mechanic even tho I know absolutely nothing about it how hard is it to learn to the point where you become a mechanic I'm going to start. Night classes in July
@adrianbrogan10616 жыл бұрын
Dylan f Hey bud I'm in a post graduate program at a local tech school and, depending on the program/class you go into and thwe insructors, it's fairly easy. You really just gotta mix book learning with hands on learning and you should be able learn the basic stuff (common maintenance, tool names and how to use them, safety, etc.) in a month or two
@theyoungoutdoorsman82526 жыл бұрын
Adrian Brogan ok sounds good, thank you

Clean up your workspace a bit. You might not know it, but custumers pay attention and notice this type of thing. And its very un-professional.

^ this, as a mechanic I can't understand how somebody are able to work under such conditions, I take 30 minutes at the end of every day to clean my station, even though I don't get payed to do it, it brings me happy repeat customers which in the end earns money
@quickscopemaster24447 жыл бұрын
michal erga I get the customer part, but I would die if my shop was that disorganized. And if they treated there equipment like they do, I would die

Cool video man! I know a full shop is a busy shop but take a few extra minutes to clean it up. I'd get tired of stepping/tripping over stuff. You would be surprised how more efficient you guys would be if it was all clean and organized. Instead of being hunched over on the floor swapping the cooling fans it would be easier to set it on one of those work benches. Trust me, you'll appreciate it after you've done it for 20+ years.

Vince Gagliardi a full shop for me is five cars up front including a old mustang and Ford that have some serious issues, and six cars out back, including a old slam van, and an impala with its engine sitting on a stand, and one box truck.

SM Adventures I recently changed my college course form business to a motory vehicle and I don’t know whether I want to change back once again to business, which has a higher rate of success for me?
@sarfaraz6974 жыл бұрын
Ekku it all depends on where you want to take your degree, I really didn’t see a future for me always working under cars and needed a job that had more job security, I chose accounting because it is the best business degree there is, you get to study the business from a very in depth level, you can end up being a public or private accountant and if you don’t want to do that, you can open your own business. You can open your own business and already understand the basics being an accountant. But then again, I would advise you to work in a car repair shop and see if it’s for you, you never know if that’s really where your heart is

@adrianbrogan10616 жыл бұрын
Lukas Kaciusis it depends on if you're pasaionate about the field! Honestly the industry is having issues with people being interested in being mechanics/technicians for many reasons but the main one being that the most common form of pay for a mechanic is through a system called "flat rate" (you should look into what that is and why mechanics generally hate it)

Haha yeah leaving the tools in the engine bay is not a good idea, the only way i learned my lesson was from experience, its such an easy way to make a costly mistake!

Seen a few mistakes but u learn from ur mistakes as i still do, one main thing to remember is try to stay alil organized and dont be afriad to fuck up because good techs fuck up but learn at the same time, but i usually pay for my fuck ups lol knowledge aint free and theres no financial aid in this trade lol
