1. What do you do with the unwanted photos separated from the selects? (Permenant delete or still save it as backup?) 2. Do you usually just submit the jpeg and use the raw as backup? 3. If you do use the raw files, what are the main quick adjustments you primarily do to the photos? 4. If you do just post the jpegs, what settings do you apply (i.e. D-lighting? Picture control? Distortion control? Vignette control? Etc) 5. Any limit on usable ISO? Or just use the highest possible? 6. Back button focussing or AF modes? 7. Bracketing? Settings?

1. What do you do with the unwanted photos separated from the selects? (Permenant delete or still save it as backup?) Normally I would delete them, but a lot of them are saved…don’t really know why…;-) 2. Do you usually just submit the jpeg and use the raw as backup? I transmit jpg’s directly from the camera, normally around 10 from each match - when I work from my Mac during halftime and after the game I always use the raw-file and makes jpg’s from this file. 3. If you do use the raw files, what are the main quick adjustments you primarily do to the photos? Contrast, sharpening, colour, whitebalance - not that much - more and more I don’t do very much to the photo. 4. If you do just post the jpegs, what settings do you apply (i.e. D-lighting? Picture control? Distortion control? Vignette control? Etc) None of these…see above 5. Any limit on usable ISO - Or just use the highest possible? ? Until recently I would say Iso 4000 on a Nikon D5 - but last week I needed to go to 10000 Iso in a small, dark football ground - it looked surprisingly good… 6. Back button focussing or AF modes? Focus always in the shutter button - and the “back-focus”-button I use for holding focus when a person is standing still…I never got used to back-button focus, because my experience was when I move the camera very quickly to the side to shoot for example the coach going mad I missed crucial milliseconds before my thumb did hit the back-button for the focus…does that make sense? 7. Bracketing? Settings? Never!

1) Still save 2)use both 3)contrast, color, sharp, crop...nothing fancy 4)Jpg's only to transmit from camera 5)Normally 5000 Iso, but if needed go higher to get the picture... 6)no back button focus 7)no bracketing

Really interesting video. What I didn't understand was, do you get paid per photo used? Or per match? And do these photos stay your property? Or does the player have rights on them.. I am sure a complicated issue but would love to read from you.
@larsrnbg41615 жыл бұрын
I work on a contract with the PhotoAgency per year. Pictures stay my property. Players don't have the rights to the picture, but they (or the club) need to be asked if pictures are to be used in a commercial way.

Mostly 2,8 to get the background blurred - but for overview pictures (of the stadium) with the wide angle it's sometimes a good idea to use 5,6 or 8 to get as much sharp as possible

It's red tape. Common practice among sports photographers, it helps them identify their gear instantly when there are too many photographer either on pitch side or media rooms. It's very common for photographers to have the exact same gear.
