The captain said they were navigating at 14 knots. There were strong winds and 3-meter waves. Suddenly the starboard engine exhaust bellows punctured due to heat and he stopped the engine. He told me that he thought the engine got overheated because they were going in and out of the waves and there must be air that blocked the cooling water to the engine. Then the port engine overheated and he stopped that engine too. The yacht turned aft to the waves while they were busy with the engines. He told me the aft starboard side watertight beach club door blew open and a lot of water entered where he told Nedim that the portside watertight hatch blew open. (We are not sure which one he meant exactly.) Then they took off the filter [sic] for the second engine and restarted it and began navigating with one engine but the rudder didn’t respond (water in the steering compartment). He said they couldn’t go to the emergency rudder compartment (on the port side of the beach club above the rudder compartment) since it was also full of water. Then the storm got stronger and big waves started. Water invaded the lower beach club and even the main deck. Since he no longer had control he sent the Mayday call.

I served in the Coast Guard. Im proud to be a Coasty. Helped save alot of live plus stopped alot of drug poison from coming into our states. God Bless the men and wemen in the Coast Guard
@checkanr1382 жыл бұрын
you seriously think the war on drugs is working? get people with addiction help and educate your children about drugs in a non-dogmatic way so they know exactly what they are doing when they come into the age where people all over the world go partying and most likely take drugs. on the one hand we glorify drugs and have them available anywhere like alcohol and tobacco and on the other hand other drugs get demonized and the people dealing them for rich people get put behind bars, while the users are mere victims. this is bullshit and hypocritical. i rather see drugs legalized than having some selective "war" on drugs - whatever that even means and having criminal organizations formed to push these drugs, because there always will be a demand. if people take drugs it is their own decision and they should be as informed as possible and not be criminalized and addiction should be treated as a disease and not as a crime. give people more options than just alcohol and tobacco and educate people about what the drugs actually do in a scientific way and people will stop abusing drugs that much and less people will get into trouble pushing and using drugs.
@checkanr1382 жыл бұрын
btw i am in no way saying the drugs you stopped coming into the country are not dangerous, but as we can see the drug use in the US is very high and there is too much resources put into "stopping" drugs coming into the country instead of having a drug policy that does not encourage people to take drugs or being misinformed about drugs or simply helping people with addiction get out of the addiction cycle. popular culture clearly glorifies drugs, drugs have always been a part of youth culture and culture in general, the criminalization of drug users and drugs in general does not wield the results that are desired - more healthy people and a better education about drug use to prevent addiction, health problems and diseases. people see all these movie and music stars that can afford expensive rehab clinics and think taking drugs is cool. to add to that tobacco companies get the kids hooked on smoking as early as they can and alcohol companies also aggressively push their product, which is also highly dangerous, addictive and a drug. i think legalizing and regulating drug use would also take away a lot of the mystery and lure of the illegal drugs and make them safer to use, because the ingredients would not be stretched to make more money - like with crack etc - tobacco companies should also finally be forbidden to artificially chemically modify their product to make it much more addictive that if they "just" used normal tobacco. If you are young and want to take drugs, wouldnt it be better to go somewhere where people advise you about the dangers of these drugs and be able to choose instead of getting just whatever somebody pushes to you? most young people have zero knowledge about what they are taking and just use drugs to vent other problems they have in life.
