Also just to toss this out, Torrian (the guy who animated this fight) was a push goal that was met on the kickstarter, so we will get to see another one of his fights in the future. Going to be fun to see which one that will be.

Ay! Dante vs Bayonetta is prolly my favorite Death Battle, at least my favorite classic Death Battle. This episode does so much and I love it. Especially the surprise 2 v 2 that the animator, Torrian did it because it would be cool. It really helped that this episode came out just before Death Battle started to do "proper" budgeting and scheduling for episodes where we could have such a long fight. Using both character's arsenals to a degree they prolly couldn't do nowadays, lots of references, and just an overall blast. Plus Dante won, which until I finally play Bayonetta, I'm happy about! One more thing, I believe they've confirmed that they will be aiming to post a new Death Battle monthly when they start posting again. Maybe except for January due to holidays and in general ad revenue sucks. But who knows, we'll have to wait and see!

I could be wrong, but I think Dante vs Bayonetta still holds the record for the longest fight animation in DB history. Edit, bullets with the casing still on was a minor fault in DB for a while; I think it still happened all the way up to Black Widow vs Widowmaker. Edit 2: check replies, corrections were made.

@@Red1Fouad Ah, yes, you’re right, by roughly a two minutes, give or take. This is the longest one Torrian has animated. They’ve mentioned it on DB Cast and I got it mixed up.

Oh this one was a delight to revisit. A hell of a way to kick off that season if I recall correctly. Wonder if they will bring back DBX in the future.

I originally had no major issues with this Death Battle. But ever since Bayonetta 3, we now know that she can handle physical wounds pretty good. Like having multiple giant stab wounds. Not as good as Dante, but still good. The result would probably not change. Her healing depends on the magic of her Umbran Watch (described as the heart of a witch) which can be broken. While Dante’s healing doesn’t rely on anything.
