He didn't refuse to play though, he just didn't fit, when nurse played him his defense was awful so was his offense to the point Nurse took him out the rotation, he wasn't in the Raptors plan so they let him stay with his family till they found a trade for him.... That being said, he still stated he had higher ambitions, so yeah he deserved those boo, just wished they had chanted higher ambitions with 5 claps

It's definitely hard to think whether he is intentionally playing bad or not but that one interview where Fred VanVleet called him out just tells the whole story what he's done the least for Toronto. But hey I think Goran might have learned back from Miami from what Iggy has done back from basically the same from Memphis. Get underhyped from the franchise, play not too poor to look like it's intentionally poor, demand a trade and sit out or wait for the day to be waived just to look in midseason agency for options to be in a more desirable team and try to thrive in a role where he has way too much bench time because of younger, healthier and more capably skilled guys who seek minutes in filling their position in the team. Probably the only thing his best asset is that is in this Nets team might be playoff experience and mentorship but just minimal impact while playing on the floor. Nonetheless yeah he totally deserved those boos.

Plus him saying higher ambitions could be from a team/organisational perspective, which I would not blame him due to the common consensus around the team at the beginning of the season. If they were truly gunning for a chip, they would not trade kyle lowry. Lowry was a sign of a new direction for the raptors. A different direction that would not match with a vet who wants a ring.

When he first got traded he made some sideways comments, how toronto wasnt a desired location, and how he has higher ambitions to play for a contender team. Then when him and toronto made a deal pretty much putting him on paid leave so he can go back to miami, he was in the heats gym making insta posts about how "happy is to be home", attending the miami games, honestly acting like he wanted back into miami. And after being traded he decided it was his job to reveal that the raptors are trying to focus on "younger" players and also pretty much trying to play the "raptors didn't want me" card which is pretty messed up considering the time he did play for us, it looked like a half assed effort.
