My grandfather was on a plane from Halifax to Toronto with Mr Howe. They sat next to each other and talk nothing about hockey really haha just thanked him for his years sacrificed in the game. 3 hours of nothing but family and Canada! But, I still can’t believe he was talking with him all that time and it totally slipped his mind to ask for a autograph 😂❤

He most certainly was all that & much more, my friend. Though we here in Toronto had a rather *classy player* back in the day, as well. He being, *Mr. David Micheal Keon.* Who to this very day, is the greatest ice hockey player to ever wear a Toronto Maple Leafs sweater, as well. IMHO, of course.

I was fortunate enough to meet Gordie Howe one time. His team was practicing in Colorado Springs and Minnesota was playing against Colorado College one year. I’m from Minnesota and watch hockey as much as possible. My favorite is amateur hockey at the high school level because it is non-violent and the boys play so hard!

What has happened to the Habs? To think that they once had such a wonderful player as Jean Beliveau that led the greatest franchise in hockey to cup after cup and now that team is a third rate mess today. I sure wish that the Canadiens had such a player today. As a kid watching the Habs back then, and friends who liked other teams, Jean Beliveau was an idol.
