Gordon is probably eating meat because of its taste. Most people forget that the meat has that taste because of the plants and salt that it's been seasoned with. And the four reasons people still eat meat and animal products are taste, tradition, easy access and out of habit. It's really amazing seeing someone like him trying this type of food 😊

I think that making meat taste good is easy, but making a (HEALTHY) vegetable dish taste even close to as good is a real challenge! Someone who can pull that off is a real chef. I've also reached a similar opinion regarding vegetables being alive. Good to see someone like sadhguru supporting this. I suggest trying Japanese shojin ryori 精進料理 (Buddhist cuisine) as well (in Japan when they open). When done right it is absolutely excellent vegan food while being completely different from the Indian vegan cuisine. This comes from someone who can eat meat for every meal of the day. (but is attempting to switch some meals to vegetarian)

Veg food tastes delicious and there's no denying it, but particularly for men, meat is essential. Muscle mass is essential and the veg sources of protein are estrogenising. If this veg drive that India is on was so rampantly successful you wouldn't have such a high number of diabetics. Carb overloads are conducive to weight gain, and Indian women in their 40s and above are pretty big. From a health perspective, it deprives you of collagen, protein, b12, etc, but it is yummy.

He explained the Indian take in one line, that which no other western minded Indian ever could to a westerner- "food is not about morality, it's about well being." That's how it works in our life. People living in cold need red meat for well being, people in hot weather need lighter food, spicy food in hot countries work as a body cleanser, a spiritual guru and students and any scholar in general needs to be calm so "satvik food" is good for their well being. A warrior needs "taamsik food".... And to all my Indians- that's why you all need to know about your civilizational values. How can you explain someone about your culture when you yourself don't understand it in the first place!?!?!
