I love how calm and patient he is while teaching his daughter and other children to have a love for food...this man is truly a gentle giant and a wonderful teacher...I wish my foods teachers in school were like him. Instead they have all lost their love of teaching and love of food...so children don't learn to truly appreciate the art of cooking. My son is 13 years old and he LOVES to cook! He has always had an incredible pallet and an amazing love of food...his dream is to become a 5 star chef like...*wait for it!*...GORDON RAMSAY!!

Used to make a Poor Knights version from Germany.Soaked chunks of homemade bread which had the crust grated off and set aside in a sweetened egg and milk mix with grated lemon zest,toasted the crumbs in butter,rolled the chunks in the crumbs,stuck a slivered almond in 4 sides,fried it each side ,dusted with powdered sugar and served with fried Granny Smiths.

'Eggy bread' is what we in the US call french toast, though it's usual to put the cinnamon & sugar on top after it's cooked. Going to try it in the egg mix next time & see how it goes.

In America we call the eggy-bread French Toast and it is a classic feel good breakfast food mostly eaten by children and teenagers! Often served with maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh fruits often strawberries, blue berries, peaches or a preserve. In the same feel good breakfast food list as pancakes and crepes.

I make the same stewed apples for breakfast for special occasionsall except I also add a some cinnamon too it too. As for the eggy bread I usually substitute it for some fluffy pancakes and I add some apples into the mixture too, one of my favorite breakfasts!!!😋

Gordon, I hope you can help with this because answers in the internet aren't always accurate. If you don't mind me asking, do you know an trick to keep bread from molding at least for 2-3 weeks? Every time we buy long bread, it just molds in an week which is frustrating, I keep it in plastic bags sealed tight with air inside while I keep my kitchen very cool most of the time, what should I do? Is it the lights that ruins it while it's exposed outside or should I keep it in dark places?
