How Gordon Ramsay reads his kids a bedtime story: Kids in bed. Done. Grab a book. Amazing. Open book. Now the secret is to read slow to put them to sleep quicker. Read. Beautiful. Relax...let the book do the work…perfect. Finish book. Kids asleep. Done. Layer the kids with some lovely sheets of wool or any local blanket variety. Little kiss on the cheek. Really brings out the love. Let rest overnight. Walk out room. Done. Oh my lord. So good

The tip for not crying while cutting onions: don't lean too close over them. I was wondering why my husband rarely cries while cutting onions - and then I realized, that he's tall and has long hands while I'm short with short hands and also short-sighted, always leaning close to what I'm doing (if not wearing glasses). I tried to stand straight, stretch my hands, keep my face as far as possible from the onion - and it made a huge difference. But having a sharp knife, as somebody mentioned above, is important too. Also, two onions, each from a different source but looking the same, can have different potency, some have only slight onion taste, I would probably be able to eat them like apples, and some are very "onionish". When I come to think about it, some 15 years ago all onions were very "strong", but nowadays it's rare to come across a strong one, most of those I buy are almost bland and don't make me cry even if I stick my face close to them. (I'm from the Czech republic.)

“Room temperature cream whips much faster than cold so you need to take it out of the fridge at 30 minutes before you want to whip it. Unless of course you want to work on your biceps.” -Gordon Ramsey Understood 💪

10:07 yes, way faster but you are throwing away at least 15% of the pepper. 1. You could do an incision half a centimeter from the base, go all around the pepper with the incision => the bunch of seeds with the base-cap and stem => cut away the pepper ring from the base cap. 2. Cut the tip of the pepper (half a centimeter or more to catch all those shape irregularities into one flat piece). 3. Take the middle part of the pepper, cut exactly near one of the white parts, unfold, remove the white parts. Voilà ! Now you have 99% of the pepper in 30 seconds (maximum) instead of less pepper in just a few seconds ;)

He kinda messed that one up. But if you chop enough peppers, you get the feel for getting the most of of them. Note that harmful bacteria can dwell in the tips at both ends of chilis, bell peppers and tomatoes-I always take a little off both ends. Sounds finicky, but there have been many food-poisoning cases because of this.

@@Zoboomafoobar Thank you for the info, I didn't know about the bacteria in the peppers. Interesting :)
