@adrianpillai66453 күн бұрын
Based on my short time working on reality cooking competition shows (plural), contestants are asked to prepare several plates for each meal - not just the one. One is for the judges (and sometimes a spare in case of stuff that can melt under hot studio lights), and one for all the close up B-roll inserts of the meal. The meal for the close ups is taken away as soon as ready, to another studio / small setup for all the photos and videos / spinning shots. The meals for the judges are indeed sometimes less than at ideal temperature- despite there being a place like in restaurants where you keep food under very hot heat lamps ready to serve. Some judges take this into account, others less so.

@basemtalha11 күн бұрын
@@MichaelSharpBLACKDRUMMIKE He also did a secondary video about 2 months ago where he said the restaurants of GR he tried were good. SortedFood channel also tried 3 GR restaurants and said they were good so its definetly up to individual experience as opposed to "if it's shit for me then it's shit for everybody". His casual dining spots have always hit and miss. His fine dining eateries though are overwhelmingly positive especially his flagship.
@ethan74111 күн бұрын
His prestige restaurants are one thing but the fare from his restaurants in airports or Main Street are going to be average. At the Main Street level is selling a brand not his chef skills. It’s kind of expected to make the money he makes. There’s always 2 tiers to a brand - the prestige and the more mid level
@basemtalha11 күн бұрын
@@ethan741 That's actually a very interesting way to put it but still presents issues for GR. His "mid" restaurants are definitely a brand cause everybody be selling the same foods but just cooked in different ways with some being better then others. His prestige restaurants on the other hand are by definition a bit out of most people's price range which is one issue. The second issue is that many people find the concept of fine dining itself nevermind the cost to be pretentious due to its affiliation with elites, royalty, the rich and powerful, the style of food and cooking of it etc hence the aversion to partaking in that endeavor even if once which is sad because that's where GR talent as a chef really comes into play since that is his specialty.
@basemtalha11 күн бұрын
@@ethan741 However I will disagree on the 2 tiers for a brand the prestige and the mid: His fine dining establishments are no brand, that's actually his skills that he's passed on to his head chefs and others who work for him in that field. His casual restaurant yes a brand. Mid/brand and prestige, big difference between both.
