I’ve played this piece for a very long time. This is the best rendition and I love the added ornaments. Bravo! Well played.

It is a very straight forward and happy piece. And really popular as well so I thought I should make my own take on it :)

Bravo!!!! 😊 my local Content representative knew Mr. Young and explained how the composer never intended it to be played as fast as some people take it - your tempo is perfect. I loved your bonus ornaments and the registration a delight!! 🥰

I love learning this "behind baseball" knowledge. It also says "Allegro Moderato" in the score so it must not too fast. I have heard some renditions that truly is presto 🏎

I love the variety of organ works that you play, Philip. You seem always in control. Nice registration as well. As a result: outstanding performance.

Hi Matthijs. Great hearing from you and thank you so much for your kind words. I try to differentiate as much as I can. I realize I haven't play that much music from the Netherlands. Maybe you have something in mind that I could try and take a look at?

Lovely piece and played to your usual high standard. I always feel Gordon Young is an underrated composer, I rarely hear his music played at any organ concerts here in England. My Uncle was Danish and I always looked forward to roll mop herrings and snaps when I visited him. Sadly he is long gone but it is is nice to see a tiny glimpse of wonderful København out of your window !

Dear V! Gordon Young's music definitely has a fresh and very friendly harmonic language, so I thought I just wanted to give my rendition of this very famous classic. I was quite intrigue reading that you have danish roots. Snaps and roll mop herrings are definitely VERY danish. Do you still have danish relatives?

@@philipaggesen My Danish side of the family are all gone now. I am always sad that I never ended up living there back in the 1970's when I had planned to leave England. At least on KZbin you can always find some side of Danish life to watch. I also love listening to the wonderful music of Buxtehude. You can always find snippets of music that worked their way into Bach's compositions. Buxtehude really was a great influence on other organists and certainly ahead of his time.
