For your Asian noodles recipe, olive oil has too low of smoke point. If you're doing high heat, consider peanut or canola oil. Sesame oil is a great flavor infuser.
@lorisruhstaller3030 Жыл бұрын
i agree with you but its gordon I dont think he is able to cook without olive oil😅
@kindnessasgreatasthesea1158 Жыл бұрын
I'm Greek and we use olive oil for almost everything. I regularly make stir fries with olive oil and there is absolutely no problem with my olive oil. I don't even notice it's there. Always comes out delicious. So it depends on your tastes and the quality of the olive oil.
@jwenting Жыл бұрын
I think he went with ingredients that are easily available in British supermarkets. Olive oil is just more common (and often cheaper) than peanut and sesame seed oil. Rapeseed oil (canola for Americans) is IMO a big nono because of how inflammatory it is for the bowel. Plus Gordon is addicted to his olive oil. He uses it everywhere (even where one really should use butter).
@kindnessasgreatasthesea1158 Жыл бұрын
@@jwenting I totally agree, olive oil is cheaper and healthier and in my family, we happen to cook exactly like Gordon on this regard.
@xaivang6379 Жыл бұрын
Also, instead of using the soy sauce on the meat and broccoli. You wanna throw them all in 1pan then soy sauce it up. Other then that the noodles don't have as much flavor as it can have.

I've made this gnooci recipe myself at home, I didn't have a ricer I just mashed it. But it was a huge hit it's a stick to your rib kind of thing but it's not heavy on your belly like store-bought is it's much lighter on your stomach but still very filling and absolutely delicious. I had some of the leftover gnocchi noodles and I actually while they were cold I made bacon the next day and then I fried them up in bacon almost like you would do with a spaetzle. And no joke it was the most delicious breakfast I have had in years.
@Marastife2 жыл бұрын
@@getz29 honestly I just slowly added flour until I started to get like a pretty dough like consistency but I didn't really need that much to be honest I think it was maybe about a cup of flour for every two large potatoes maybe a little less honestly. Really when making it you're trying to look for a consistency so the flower amount can change depending on how wet the potatoes are how humid the air is that you're working in it's just something that you just kind of figure out as you're going along. But I would say just slowly add the flour until you have something that's a little bit looser than a cookie dough but not quite a bread dough consistency? Almost like if you were making a pasta dough that's kind of the consistency you're looking for. At least that's the consistency I was looking for and got and my results were amazing
