To be fair, that's how he probably is to everyone learning to cook. His angry screaming image is just for American TV shows. Even when you watch the UK versions of Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, he might swear more, but he doesn't yell nearly as much.

I agree that it’s a very mundane thing and most “good” parents don’t think twice about cooking with their kids or teaching them in a constructive and positive manner. But on the other hand, there’s also a lot of parents who completely don’t do those things and neglect to nurture/enrich their children with anything. It’s just nice to see parenting done well and it should be congratulated when it is IMO

I love the KZbin series 100 recipes to stake your life on. As a VERY amateur chef I love Gordon’s videos. He makes it look so darn easy. I’ve tried to flambé chicken several times and just can’t get it. I usually try to do it with chicken thighs cuz I think they’re moister. But whenever I “light it up” I get a little “poof” and that’s about it. I definitely cannot tilt the pan and do it! The few times I tried I used a bbq lighter. Nothing. Maybe too much grease? Not the right wine (sweet Marsala in this case)? Geeze I don’t know. At the end I didn’t have a glaze like Chef Ramsay had, I had soup. It was good but not great. Family said they loved the chicken but… oh well I’ll keep trying to flambé u til I get it right. Geeze he makes it look sooooo easy.

We believe good food is the key to bringing all souls together. All walks of life from any age. (My husband says I should be opening my own restaurant.. I’m not there. I’d rather do soul food from everywhere) Younger kids have trouble with it but.. we caught on. Start them as babies on wicked food and in the picky yrs they fight us and pick out their favourite parts.. once their hit around 10yrs they start to get food brave again. I’ve made my family so many of your recipes and have added my twist to some. We have French; euro and Canadian , I hate to say my qc French roots have some really great soul recipes , Italian, Irish, native, and South African roots) my bffs heritages came into play. I have gladly sat and aided in all their kicthens, nonnas,omas and native elders, babushkas all have my soul. Jamaican, creole.. I only wish I could have seen the kicthen u have❤ This comment will never get noticed but soul food.. is soul food done right Got my kids helping. And learning from the sources. Anthony bourdain has a soft spot in my soul.

Judging from all the new people coming into my job I can speculate that this boy will be one of the few people who know how to cook at 18. Dunno why but actually teaching kids to cook has fallen off. Been helping some of the newbies at work by luring them in with lunches until they ask how to make it.

Unless one of your parents went to culinary school like my Mom did, OR you grew up in an immigrant household again like I did... You can imagine the surprise on my face when my gf said she didn't know how to cook rice. The basics would be really helpful to kids, they love cooking when given the tools and curiosity!!
@bruhverlybruh40122 жыл бұрын
I grew up in the East Coast of the US and cooking is a huge part of most get- togethers. Perhaps that's the issue though? A lot of folk avoid family in the US or are super busy. The only time they get together as a family is specific holidays.
@dulouis60592 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say people really TRY to avoid families in the US, they often just don't have time for proper family sit downs in this current time. Even my own can't really all sit at the table anymore since work is constantly calling. If we want more family time, we need better benefits FOR those families!
@bruhverlybruh40122 жыл бұрын
Another program just adds more taxes which takes away from the yearly pay of the family which makes people work more. I like some programs but most of them are run poorly and a lot of the money seems to go to nothing or get "lost" in the sauce.
