Thankfully, Chef has taken the time to explain what is really easy to understand for those of us who have taken the time to learn how to prepare food, rather than order out or have the entire recipe sent to you and all you have to do is drop it into the oven. Youre welcome
@malloryg42513 жыл бұрын
@@twelvecatsinatrenchcoat First of all, you have to understand that Gordon Ramsay is a chef, so his definition of simple and easy is going to differ from ours. Take it with the proverbial grain of salt and consider the context. He's saying that these recipes are simple and quick compared to more elaborate dishes, and they don't require much skill. They also contain fewer ingredients, but that doesn't mean that he won't add a few special ingredients that are more expensive. If you want to make food that is outstanding, then you have to invest in your ingredients. What I find to be annoying is that every time a chef puts out a video like this, tons of people bitch and complain about how they can't afford to buy the ingredients, they don't have the time, blah, blah, blahhhhhhhhh. It's like, if you're incapable of making these recipes, then just stick to pb&j or pasta with marinara and stop complaining! But the rest of us wanna learn.

The thing is, that "only syths deal in absolutes". What I mean by that is, the dish ingridients are not set in stone. You can always remove or add something yourself. Recipe: Coconut Meatballs Ingredients: Onions Garlic cloves Olive oil Salt Pepper Minced beef Dried chili flakes Bread crumbs Milk Coriander seeds Cardamom seeds Turmeric Pinch of cinnamon Dried chilies Lemongrass Fresh ginger Chicken stock Coconut milk Lime zest Fresh lime juice Instructions: Heat a pan over medium heat and sweat off finely chopped onions and sliced garlic in a tablespoon of olive oil. Season the onions with salt, pepper, and dried chili flakes. Cook for about 2 minutes. In a mixing bowl, combine minced beef, bread crumbs, and milk. Mix well until you achieve a slightly doughy texture. Add the seasoned onions, garlic, and chili to the bowl with the beef mixture. Mix thoroughly with your hands. Shape the meat mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs, ensuring they are tightly packed. Wipe the pan used for cooking the onions, but do not wash it to retain the flavor. Heat the pan over medium heat with a touch of olive oil. Gently place the meatballs in the pan and cook them until browned on all sides. In a mortar and pestle, crush coriander seeds and cardamom seeds. Add them to the pan with the meatballs. Add a pinch of turmeric, cinnamon, dried chilies, smashed lemongrass, and thinly sliced ginger to the pan. Pour in chicken stock and bring it to a boil. Then, add coconut milk to the pan, ensuring it is just underneath the top of the meatballs. Check the seasoning and adjust if needed. Simmer the meatballs gently for 8 to 10 minutes until they are cooked through and tender. Sprinkle lime zest over the meatballs to add a fresh contrast to the richness. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the meatballs to enhance the flavors. Serve the meatballs generously with the coconut broth, tilting the pan to ladle a good amount of the broth onto the plate. Enjoy these delicious coconut meatballs, which have a modern twist on an old-fashioned recipe. They can also be cooked from frozen. Shopping List: Onions Garlic cloves Olive oil Salt Pepper Minced beef Dried chili flakes Bread crumbs Milk Coriander seeds Cardamom seeds Turmeric Cinnamon Dried chilies Lemongrass Fresh ginger Chicken stock Coconut milk Lime
