I feel sorry for Mitch, he has a father-in-law breathing down his back constantly who should never be in the kitchen; interfering and intimidating him. He should be greeting customers instead. His wife berates him in front of staff, which is so rude and disrespectful, that she takes no responsibility for herself (great at acting for the camera to save face). The poor man has everyone coming at him for 16 years giving him constant shit no wonder he's at breaking point with bags under his eyes and a load of stress on his face. That would be hard for anyone to unlearn after so long, let alone 3 days instantly, that takes time, patience, and understanding. Especially with a highly competent Michelin star Chef like Gordon as a consultant/tutor. Lots of people find it very hard to speak up for themselves in these situations when they haven't been taught them early on in childhood or generally handling relationships and their respective boundaries. Annette was lovely... these may be staged or played up for reality tv but there is an underlying truth in the management relationships.

Yelp reviews and Trip Advisor reviews were mostly positive after the episode aired. There are compliments to most of the menu items but also a few negative comments including one alleging she was made sick from a tainted sandwich. Some regulars on Chowhound said that they preferred the previous menu and the new food was lacking flavour. Grasshopper Also closed and was sold in October 2012 and reopened with new management, new staff and a new makeover.
