3:00 Gordon's thought process here is fascinating and shows exactly why he is different to the failing Chefs he criticises. First, he finds fault with their logic. "why are they putting the rice on when all of my experience and expertise is telling me that it only takes 20 minutes?". But instead of arrogantly assuming they were doing it wrong, he accepted that his knowledge is limited and that they know more than him and adjusted accordingly while attempting to seek out additional information to catch up with them.

Gordon is a world class chef but he handled second place with class. There's nothing wrong with that. He learned something and added to his already enormous repertoire with a cuisine that he is unfamiliar with. Classy. And that's got to feel good for that woman who got first place, beating beating Gordon Ramsay she can flex with that accomplishment for the rest of her life.
