Linda Balgord was not Patti LuPone's standby in GYPSY. Lenora Nemetz was her standby and only played the role on the Sunday matinee the day before Patti did the cast recording.

You are mistaken. When the production opened, Nemetz, who was playing Mazeppa and Miss Cratchitt, was LuPone's UNDERSTUDY. A short while into the run, they brought on Balgord as standby.
