Originally built sometime in the 1860s, this stunning home sat on 100 acres of farming land. Before the home's construction, the land was sold several times, having many owners. The property was divided into two 50-acre lots at one point, eventually merging back together only a few years later. From 1867-1904, the Cook family owned and farmed the lands bringing stability to the ownership of the property. In 1905, the Cook Family moved, leaving the land to a new farmer. From 1900-1970, the lands didn't change much. Farming and agricultural uses appear to predominate on-site at the subject lands and in the surrounding area.
Prior to acquisition by the current property owner, the former owner Mr. Major is reputed to have owned the property for over fifty years and during this time appears to have established a home-based business as a communications specialist. From the 1990s onwards, both mapping and aerial photography indicate subtle and major changes in the landscape. New Highways and Urban expansion started to encroach on the Farmhouse, making its property look ideal for a new development. A Heritage assessment on the property was completed in 2021. It was deemed that the farmhouse has been substantially altered over the past decades and its heritage integrity is compromised. It was recommended it be removed from the city's Heritage list. The home was quickly purchased by a developer after this decision and left abandoned since 2023. They will demolish the home using its property to build a new subdivision.

Great tour, Noah. I always hate to see farmland used to build homes because it always displaces the wild animals.

Nice big kitchen. 12:17 that is a dryer, not a washing machine. 12:33 I think that is where the washing machine was. The stained glass windows are lovely.

Not surprising the developers would get around the Heritage designation using the 'no longer original' loophole. One can only hope some or all of the vintage interior design features will be salvaged. Especially the stained glass!

I'm absolutely hooked watching all your abandoned house tours. I just started watching them a few weeks ago. And I was wondering if you ever toured a real haunted house? And didn't know that it was haunted and did you ever experience anything like that. Just was wondering ya know. Be careful and watch your surroundings doing your abandoned house tours.

This happened in my old childhood town in pa outside of pittsburgh. All the old farms sold out to mcmansion developers and target khols, stripmalls. One Victorian farm house and farm was preserved but a Walmart parking lot is right next to it . Everyone calls it Walmart acres. 😢

Every time we lose valuable farmland to build homes, solar panels, windmills, or huge shopping centers, we lose land that once raised and/or grew food for us all. Think about it people, protect our lands. God Bless. 1776

Noah you are welcome! Another awesome video, very weird lay out of the main house, but it must have been used for various things over the years. That Dodge Caravan looked to be in decent shape before someone ransacked it and left the doors open to the elements....

Leaving TVs and lights on in an abandoned house is a common tactic for use to prevent unwanted visitors, specifically vandals and thiefs, of which you are neither. Honestly, if it were my old house, I would enjoy someone showing off how beautiful it was before demo.. as long as they didn't mess with anything. 👍🏼 ..and what is under the stairway.. behind that blocked door in the pantry!?! and what was on that USB drive?! That upstairs seemed huge!

No signal for TV! bummer! ...Was that chocolate pudding on the living room floor? ...The place looks familiar - was it a Static Space? ...I do remember seeing the CN tower🗼but not the CN trains... The bongs were an exciting sight but who would leave their bongs behind? ...Is that a big hunk of dried-up caribou meat 🦌sitting on that chair @27:27? ...I'm thinking that those residents had to leave quickly leaving lots of their personal stuff there. ...all those dead files - so sorry for their losses! 🙏A strange place indeed!
