This was my grandfathers house ! So many great memories here. It saddens our whole family to see it run down and soon to be demolished into a subdivision. My grandfather took really good care of this home until he was no longer able to/had to focus on taking care of my grandma. Things like the pool became neglected because there was no point repairing/investing into it when it would be demolished in the near future. All the grandchildren learned to swim there, played for countless hours, celebrated thanksgiving and Christmas with a house full of family. Every detail highlighted here is ingrained in my memory. So much life has happened here. It was truly a home in its glory days. As for the leftover furniture, it took ALOT to empty this house and those pieces were just too heavy/burdensome to remove.

Nice to see an abandoned home that has not been destroyed by other people squatting there. Except for the basement area that was torn apart. This is a very interesting home. It's too bad it was not taken care of. It makes me a bit sad to see it knowing it will be torn down. 😔

Definitely a 70's house. I remember when all that wallpaper and carpet was so cool. They definitely had money. The bench and the master bathroom was a sun tanning bench. That's why all the lights were across the top.

stair wrapped around the center chimney was really cool. I also liked the basement and the special wall art that you found. I DO think that this house is a Tudor style house due to the architecture on the outside. By the way that little alcove near the fireplace was for storing wood logs to use in the fireplace🔥. Thanks for this tour and see you in your next video✌🏻.

It saddens me that your grandparents' house is about to be reduced to ruble 🥺. So many people would have loved to live in this house. My mother was born in Mexico and I will always remember something she said to me while I was growing up. She told me she had never witnessed such wasteful people until she came to the USA. Use your grandparents house for example. Instead of letting a hard working deserving family own this they rather tear it down. 😔

It's a shame that they tear down these really really nice houses that were built properly to put junk up. That's what they did when I lived in Glassboro New Jersey, they tore down really nice houses to put townhouses. 3:27 my old apartment had exposed brick like that.

That is a "Rockston Maple" Buffet and Hutch sitting in the Dining room!!! I cannot believe that the owners did not take it as the company closed a good few years ago!! The owner probably didn't care about anything anymore as they got paid handsomely for that property from the new developers!!! This is definitely a collector's item!!! Wow...how sad is that!!! What a beautiful home....definitely sad that it's coming down!!! The out side was just breath-taking with the Windmill sitting sadly in that once beautiful rock garden!!! I am heartbroken that those lovely birch trees are going to be destroyed as well!!! What a sad thing and it's going to continue that we loose all these gorgeous retro homes to cookie-cutter Smurf villages etc.!!! Anyhow, I've said my piece!!! Have a great Thanksgiving week-end everyone...it's just around the corner!!!

I love this house. That fireplace/spiral stairs are wonderful, it almost looks medieval. However, those bricks are beautiful but they're huge dust collectors, you'd have to use a vacuum to get it clean. The master bath is definitely unique. It's unbelievable how much the carpets have bleached. Nice Hi-Fi Stereo. Sometimes I wonder why developers don't leave existing houses and build their new houses on the vacant land. It's sad.

Kinda weird to see my friends old house in East Gwillinbury being toured. The house hasn't been empty that long really but has been in decline since the elderly parents sold it to a developer but were allowed to stay there until they passed on. The house was originally design by the previous owners who were friends of the family. John Candy use to live just around the corner from there for a period of time

What a cool house. So sad it's being demolished. I always wish we could see what many of these homes looked like when the owners lived there I.e. the furnishings and imagine the pool parties. I bet the owners, if still alive, would be great to find and interview. You and the other explorers are very respectful of the homes and owners in your filming. They don't make them like they used to! I really wish there was more regulation that would force developers to reuse or repurpose homes like this. Especially this era of home that kinda gets a bad rap for its styling and design. Buildings like this only exist once and they're only original once. Developers are guided by the easiest and quickest way to make as much money as possible. Erasing history one brick at a time. Bloody annoying.
