🚌 Public Transport:
In the morning, you can take:
- Post Bus from Interlaken West to Habkern, Zäundli
- Shuttle (Bus Alpin Lombachalp) from Habkern, Zäundli which directly takes you to the Restraunt (hike starting point)
In the evening, just the other way

There is parking space just in front of Restraunt “Jägerstübli Lombachalp” where the trail starts.

One of the best things about Switzerland is that you can view live webcams of almost every famous location; just search for, for example, "augstmatthorn live webcam." If you come across any results from bergex.com, we would recommend that site as it provides hourly previews (we sometimes use it even to check whether it's sunny or shady due to the mountains 😄). The current webcam for Augstmatthorn on m.swisswebcams.ch/webcam/1458907853 shows snow on the top, hence the route is probably closed and unsafe. Additionally, the restaurant where we park (in case of a car) or organize bus shuttles (in case of public transport) mentions on their website jaegerstueblilombachalp.ch/410519582/410521489 that they will open on May 11, 2024, which could also be the date when the route will be open again. As an alternative, you can visit Harder Kulm (at the top of Interlaken) www.jungfrau.ch/de-ch/harder-kulm/ using the cable car, to enjoy similar views. Another great site nearby is Lauterbrunnen, where you can enjoy approximately a 9 km round trip flat walk from Lauterbrunnen to Schilthornbahn. The area is known for its stunning scenery and captivating waterfalls. Wishing you a pleasant stay in Switzerland!
