This song is so stunning! Me has been my fave since the beginning also but the chills I feel listening to this song and the mental state it puts me in, in an instant is amazing. She said she wrote this at 35,000 ft in the plane and this was the song that helped her decide to divorce Brandon. Chemistry debuted at #1 in 4 countries so far btw! I think even if this album slow burns she’s gonna end up with a ton of streams. This song I think could have “because of you” level of success.. lol sorry so wordy but ahh I’m obsessed with this album and this song lol.

You are correct about the music being for grown ass people. And also right about her fan base. We are all getting older with her and we still love our Kelly Clarkson. I make my younger family members listen to her though and they like her too so I’m trying to spread the Kelly love through all generations. Love that you love Kelly as much as I do. Great song!

The studio version was already tear/inducing because of the vocal delivery and clean tone. But listening to her pain coming out live, with the grit and rawness, that’s the sound of grief and loss in the way she’s experiencing it. That’s what a soul in pain sounds like… and it’s still absolutely beautiful. And her head voice is ethereal.

This song for me reminds me of a relationship I had with someone who is no longer on this plain of existence, because we were each other's lighthouse. We would check in to make sure either one was "okay". When I found out that this person had passed I was not and I couldn't call and speak to them or hear their voice anymore.
